Charming cottage on a beautiful island near marina, beaches, restaurants, and hiking trails. Wonderful mid-coast Maine location for lots of possibilities for outdoor adventures, antiquing, visiting art galleries and shops, and enjoying delicious cuisine. The cottage has everything you need for a peaceful getaway. Decorated with natural elements and local art pieces to get you in the mood for this beautiful location.
“Marcella's place is perfect for someone who wants a nice quiet stay in the area but not too far from local attractions. It was very clean and very cozy and well stocked with coffee, tea and essentials needed to cook meals. Check in and out was very easy. I highly recommend Marcella's if you are traveling to the area. If you are coming to the Shelter Institute, it is about a 15 minute drive but off Route 1 which is very busy and loud all night long. I know that because I switched to Marcella's place half way through my stay because staying off Route 1 was so loud.”
All the comforts of home while you're away from home. Come enjoy a newly built beach house (2008) just short walk from beautiful Popham Beach - one of Maine's most beautiful and expansive beaches, one hour north of Portland, Maine.
“Was pleasantly surprised with how big this house felt. There is one bedroom and a common area pullout couch downstairs and all other beds are upstairs. Worked well for our two families! Close to the beach and fun even though it was winter! Closest store/restaurant is 25/30 minutes away, which wasn’t an issue for us, but something to note especially if going off season. House had lots of games, toys, and movies! Great for our kids ages 1-6! Highly recommend this house!”
Authentic shorefront summer cottage in stunning location, on renowned Indian Point in Georgetown, Maine. Steps from the ocean on a protected inlet, with tide ranges providing sand flats at low tide, scenic blue water at high tide, and everything between. Short walk to many private beaches, tide pools to explore, two kayaks for guests, hiking trails and more. Close drive to famous Five Islands wharf, for freshly caught lobster at picnic tables. Cozy, well-appointed house with gorgeous views.
“Marina has a amazing spot on the Georgetown shoreline. The deck is an awesome feature with its views of the bay: my girlfriend and I enjoyed watching seals chase the bait fish around while sipping coffee in the morning and sunset in the evening while savoring some margaritas. There are several beautiful beaches within a mile of the house. One is an easy walk, the other a two minute drive. Great clam flats all around to grab a fresh catch of steamers. The stripper fishing was choice. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the near islands with the kayaks Marina has available on the property. One thing to be aware of: there are no super markets of the island, the closest is in Bath which is a 25 minute drive. Not that big a deal in the grand scheme of things, but less spontaneity with meal planning. This is an amazing place- a true New England beach escape. We hope to return next season for some more Maine fun.”
