Don’s beautiful VanHoevenberg Ridge has become our home base in the ADK, and a “home away from home” where we return several times a year to relax and enjoy the beauty of the mountains and lakes in all seasons. This is by far the best place we have stayed since we have been coming to the ADK for over 30 years. If you are lucky enough to stay here, you’ll be back! Don’s place has everything you’ll need, and is near to everywhere you’ll want to go. The views of the High Peaks are stellar, and the hot tub is relaxing after an active day outdoors. Don is a welcoming host who truly cares that his guests have the best experience, whether avid hikers or simply wanderers seeking serenity and renewal in the woods and waters near his home. He respects your privacy, but is happy to provide his knowledge of the area to find the best hike or paddle for you. This place is our North Star in the ADK: bright, constant, and a place we’ll always look to return to. We recommend it highly to everyone!

A friend and I stayed at The Railhouse for 5 nights over the course is US Alpine Masters Nationals. The house is cute, cozy and clean. Rebecca has clearly taken great care to have everything her guests might need, and to make the place comfortable and fun for an extended stay in the area. Rebecca was friendly and very helpful and responsive; an amazing host. Location is amazing - 5 minutes from Gore, RIGHT in town, but private, walkable to the shops and a great coffee shop (shout out to Sarah’s). Look forward to staying again

Carol and Jeff were fantastic hosts and their cabin on the lake was exactly what my wife and I were expecting for our baby moon. The property on Sixth Lake was just far enough from town to be peaceful and relaxing but close enough to get a bite to eat, do some shopping, and pick up any needed grocery items. Right on the Pond, can walk out onto the ice! Also a short walk to the town park and playground! Heating is limited to an oil fired unit in the living room and plug in heaters in both bedroooms and the bathroom, but we stayed plenty warm in sweats and slippers. Nice views of the lake and deer! And the garage offered space to store our outdoor gear. So peaceful!

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Kathy's! The place was very clean and comfortable, and there was plenty of room for the 6 of us. The kitchen was well stocked, and all linens were fresh. The location was very convenient to all that Lake Placid has to offer but also removed just enough to have some quiet time away from the bustle of all the shops. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Lake Placid in the future. I highly recommend!

What a lovely condo in a beautiful setting and impeccably maintained. Check in was easy. We really appreciated the cozy atmosphere with fireplaces and heated garage after 8 hours on the road in snow! The set up was perfect for us with my daughter, her husband and my two grandsons downstairs in their own space and my granddaughter and me upstairs. The beds were comfy and the kitchen very well appointed. The Adirondack Olympic decor and furniture is perfect. We especially liked the unique, bear featured stair runners. Robin and Bob are gracious hosts providing great details and suggestions for activities. We all wished our vacation could have been longer! Don’t hesitate to book, you will love it.
