Secluded neighborhood with house directly on the Shenandoah river. Private quarters with amazing views from your own deck and sun room. Long dirt road to access property. Cattle likely grazing throughout the road in.
“This place really exceeded my expectations. The space is secluded but within 10 minutes of anything you’d want or need. It’s filled with lots of nice touches-dog treats, extra paper plates/napkins, board games, charging cables, toiletries, etc. You can tell that there was a lot of thought put into it to make sure guests are comfortable. We traveled with our two dogs, and the fenced in yard was great. They had a blast playing with Justin’s dog. The neighborhood is very dog friendly-my one dog got loose and ran into a neighbors yard to say hi and they were really sweet about it. (My dog doesn’t understand personal space...) We did not travel with children, but we noticed that the space is very kid friendly. There’s a cute little easel with chalk, stuffed animals and some other kid-friendly things inside. We loved grilling by the water and just relaxing outside. If the weather isn’t good, you still have a nice view of the river from inside. Justin and his family are incredibly sweet and welcoming. He was available for anything we needed and was nice to chat with when we were outside with the dogs. We can’t wait to return to this hidden gem.”
Enjoy fresh forest air, chill in your own modern cabin-like oasis in the woods, and still utilize WiFi, a full kitchen, and private laundry. Literally just a few minutes away from Shenandoah National Park Entrance / Skyline Drive, grocery, and Front Royal’s Main Street. The pool will be open in May, the perfect way to relax after a nice hike.
“Leave all of your worries behind. You’ll have everything you need once you arrive at Oh Shenandoah! Izzy and Justin were incredible hosts and will make sure your stay is as pleasant as possible. The space is probably best for two people. You should definitely make time to enjoy the pool if you come in the summer. It’s a zen space for a retreat. You really don’t even need to make plans! The house is a bit tricky to find so get good directions before you arrive. When you turn onto the road the house is on, just keep following the windy uphill narrow road until you pass three houses. The house is on the right past the “cat house” — marked by the cat sign on the left. I would also bring bug spray. It’s not a space for people terrified of nature. I can’t wait to come back. Thank you Izzy and Justin!”
4WD/AWD REQUIRED!! Secluded and cozy cabin overlooking the Shenandoah River and bordering the George Washington National Forest. The recently renovated cabin features a wood fireplace, wrap around deck, screened in porch, outdoor fire pit, and hot tub. The cabin is a hiker’s dream with a private access trail leading to the Massanutten Circuit Trail. Guests can also enjoy access to the Shenandoah River. **Please Note: Driveway is Steep -- AWD/4WD REQUIRED at all times.”
“My wife, pooch, and I had wonderful long weekend soaking up the mountain air and views. The view from the balcony at sunrise as the clouds clear or sunset are not to be missed. From a mid-afternoon nap in the screened in porch to nights in the hot tub, you really don't even have to leave the property to properly unwind. That being said the local towns of Mauerville and Woodstock are a quick drive away and there are many hikes, wineries, etc. within a 20 min drive. The cabin is great and has a lot of helpful tips and touches around the unit including coffee, well labeled instructions, extra blankets, dishes, etc. Hosts were helpful with tips, communications, and a bit of logistical support as we arrived. Thanks again and we home to visit again in the near future!”
