Vacation rentals in Friedens

Great location - walking distance from Wisp for skiing and tubing (though not easy with gear) and a short drive to the grocery store. This was our second stay at this property and we love how family friendly it is - the kids love the game room and climbing wall and it’s a good setup for multiple families.

Our 8-person group included older parents, as well as two kids <10, during the most off-season month at Deep Creek, when many area attractions were closed. Along with some stormy spring weather, that meant we were spending a good amount of our trip in the house. And we had an amazing time there. The kids loved the arcade machine, foosball & ping pong table, puzzles, board games and the big TV was great for movies and ballgames in front of the warm fireplace. The grill, firepit and hot tub were easy to use and in great condition - it was reassuring to see the contracted hot tub company come for routine maintenance, indicating it was clean & safe. And the view! We ate at the dining table and gazed out over the lake and hills. The kitchen had all we needed to cook for everyone. Beds/baths were comfy and it was nice to have a set on each floor - our families could have our own spaces, and my parents could stay on the 1st floor to avoid stairs. We loved the house and hope to return!

We loved our time in the property. Well appointed, great location and great price per value. We will definitely hope to stay here again soon!

This is our second time staying at the house. The house is very welcoming and homey. Very clean! Plenty of necessities. She always has extra blankets and plenty of essentials. Extra parking on street if needed. Close proximity to downtown Cumberland. Safe neighborhood. Will stay again!

From the moment we stepped in, we were impressed by the thoughtfully designed interiors that radiated both warmth and elegance. The property truly exceeded our expectations. The spacious layout provided plenty of room for everyone to relax, while the play options for the kids were an absolute delight—they had such a great time! The well-appointed kitchen, with its clean and modern utilities, made cooking feel like a treat. Every detail was clearly curated with care and attention, creating an environment that felt inviting and luxurious at the same time. It added so much joy to our trip, and we’ll always treasure the memories we made here. We hope to return someday!

This is a retreat that includes two rentals, a walk-in tent camping area and the host's house. It is very secluded with beautiful grounds, nice outdoor areas to enjoy. The houses are far enough apart that we hardly noticed the neighbors as they came and went. It is located a next to busy train tracks and at times numerous trains sped by noticeably during the evenings. There were plenty of bedrooms; two bedrooms were walk throughs, one upstairs to the basement steps, one downstairs to another bedroom. Three bathrooms although the showers were tiny and showerheads did not adjust so there's no way to get out of the spray. The layout of the kitchen area was a bit of a challenge for more than two people to work at the same time. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking needs but no spices or cooking supplies so bring your own. There were plenty of exceptionally specific instructions and read them carefully. All in all it was a very nice, comfy stay for the six of us.

We had a great stay. The Host's recommendation of Phil the fishing guide led to a great fishing outing on the lake, including huge catches. Phil was a great fishing guide, helping rookies with the experience. The house was as advertised, with ample room for our family to spread out and find space when the weather turned sour on us. Everything we needed was easily within a 30-minute drive, most within 10 minutes.
