Waterfront vacation rentals in Franklin County

We stayed at the Trout River Suite at Phineas Swann over the July 4th weekend. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. The view of the Trout River was really nice from our deck and the grassy area below. Our dog was welcomed with a dog bed in the room, a jar of milk bone biscuits, bowls, and special towels (we did need to ask for them) to wipe his feet. The suite itself was comfortable and clean. We made a simple meal one night in the room and had almost everything we needed (bring your own spices and oil). It was awesome to have AC since it was so hot and muggy. There were a lot of packaged snacks and sodas in the room for free. The fridge had beer and wine for purchase, with more in the main house. Bringing in alcohol is not permitted but their selection is pretty extensive. The main house has snacks, coffee, tea out all the time as well as fresh baked cookies. The breakfast was good, carby stuff but they will make you scrambled eggs. Overall, great experience!

We loved staying at Mike & Liane’s place - it was beautiful, comfortable, and clean, and the proximity to the Lake cannot be beat. We were lucky enough to run into Mike a few times, and he was warm and welcoming. We had such a magical stay!

This is the third time we have stayed here. As before, it was a great experience dealing with Molly. The apartment is exactly as described with lots of things inside to keep us entertained. My grandson liked the post where we could mark his height.

Darren and Lynne’s bed and breakfast was just what my partner and I (and our doggo) needed. The space was so cozy, and we were right on the river which was so peaceful. The hot tub and delicious breakfasts were an added bonus which made our stay even more relaxing. The town is also extremely quaint, and the hospitality by all staff was very impressive! We definitely plan on returning and booking here more in the future! Very dog friendly too. Thank you Darren and Lynn!

This was our 4th time staying here and it was as great as the first. Sherry is an amazing host and very responsive, and the house is very homey. Her and her husband are so friendly and welcoming. We would recommend this house to anyone staying in Vermont!

The home was perfect. We had a girls weekend and everyone was able to sleep comfortably and enjoyed the beach area.

The Pagoda house is the perfect place to disconnect from daily life and reconnect with nature in a peaceful and beautiful environment. The sauna was wonderful to relax in as well as yoga on the porch overlooking the nearby mountains. My children loved running around the property and exploring the brook, which you can hear outside or inside with the windows open. We felt right at home upon arrival. With Jay peak nearby, we always had options for entertainment. My kids loved the indoor waterpark. Don’t hesitate if you’re looking to get away from it all and enjoy some peace and quiet in beautiful VT.

Matt and Blair's Chalet on the Lake was a perfect location for my genealogy research as well as a place with amazing views! i highly recommend staying there.

This place is the perfect retreat for any group looking for a peaceful lake house experience. The pictures were accurate, the house was very clean, and its super close the Canadian border for those who wish to take a quick trip. The host was very helpful and responsive. We appreciated the smores ingredients that were there. I would recommend this place to any small group or family looking for a lakeside getaway. I would go back. Beautiful area.

This was the perfect spot for our family trip. Plenty of room for 8 adults. The house is private and there’s lots to do close by. We swam, golfed, hiked, and made day trips to Burlington VT and Montréal. The sunsets by the dock were amazing. I loved this property and would visit again if available.
