We love the place the moment we stepped in and was received a warm welcome from Tony. The cottage was surrounded by a beautiful garden. The wooden interior presented a warm and relaxing place to be at. The place is very new and clean and is in pristine condition. 10 mins drive from Kaiapoi and 5 mins away from Mandeville Road with many good options. Thanks Tony.

This is a lovely tiny home type space that is warm, sunny, clean, and well appointed. Nicci is a great host, always responsive, friendly and helpful.

The accommodation is exactly as listed. The views are even more beautiful if that’s possible. Bay views and forest/greenery surrounding, bird calls all day long. Bernard was very responsive to requests. Furnishings and kitchen provisions were great. I very much enjoyed my stay. Thank you.

Our family had a great time at Sandy Knolls Cottage as it very peaceful and far enough away from a busy city like CHCH but close enough to basic amenities in West Melton. The cottage is setup to cater for a wide range of guests including young children which is nice to see. They also provide a pantry and fridge filled with basic supplies which is a nice touch especially for those who are staying for a long period of time. We only had one minor issue and that was the internet dropped out on the Mon/Tues, but Liz did explain they thought this issue had been resolved a month ago. They were very accommodating in providing a refund for this issue

A spacious and modern home in a quiet neighbourhood. We enjoyed our stay here. The garage was a great benefit to house our bikes, the fireplace was lovely on cold mornings and the kitchen has everything you need to make family meals. Plenty of mountain bike and hiking trails nearby to explore. I highly recommend for families that would like some space and peace during their travels.

Vary nice place if you are after secluded, quiet, peaceful little place away from everything. It is located on a working farm but in a quiet corner of it, away from the main house and the main road. You will hardly hear or see anyone, maybe only horses (in a distance). Margaret is a helpful, caring host but not intrusive, i.e she respects guests' privacy but is there if you need anything. The studio has everything you would need even for a longer stay but, as noted in description, there is no built-in stove or oven however there is a portable electric stove in the cupboard + a convection oven with grill + good BBQ outside. Also note that there is no wi-fi but mobile connection is very good (50Mb on Spark network), so was not a problem for me. Overall I liked my stay at Margaret's and I even extended it for a week.

This is our first time staying at an air b and b in Christchurch/Canterbury and we have to say you’ve really set the tone. We had the pleasure of staying in a beautifully renovated building with all the amenities we could ask for which made it feel like a home away from home. The place itself was impeccably clean. The beds were comfortable and the space was open and breathable. Bringing our dog on our adventures is a must so the fact that we could bring her with us was great. She immediately clicked with Blue and he is such an amazing and friendly dog. We will be recommending to our friends and family and we will be back the next time we are in town.
