Lofted craftsman cottage in the heart of central east Austin. Located less than a mile from UT and 1.5 miles to downtown. The cottage has an open and comfortable vibe with natural light against the custom woodwork and vaulted pine ceilings.
Completely renovated, open and modern cottage with loft in central east, atx. The cottage has been restored over the past couple of years and is essentially a new house on the inside. The interior has a vaulted tongue and groove pine ceiling with a loft, hardwood floors, tiled bathroom, and relaxed open atmosphere. Cottage is centrally located less than a mile from ut and the state capitol and 1.5 miles from downtown. The MLK commuter rail train station is directly across the street from the house and is one stop from downtown. Bennu (the local 24 hour coffee shop) is a couple of blocks away, as are restaurants, bars, etc. on Manor road (within walking distance). Check out my guide for restaurants and such in the area. The house has central ac/heat, high speed wireless internet, cable tv, washer/dryer, tankless water heater, full kitchen, w/ coffee maker/coffee etc. Super comfy queen size bed with 400 thread count linens, lots of comfortable pillows, and fresh towels in the bathroom. The house has a ton of windows and can be bright and sunny with the blinds open letting in the natural light, or cozy and dark with the blinds closed and lights dimmed against the interior woodwork. The cottage is furnished with a mix of mid century and custom pieces. The loft has a sofa that converts to a full size bed and can accommodate 2 extra people. There is also a unique outdoor seating area with vintage wrought iron furniture that's been re-done with comfortable cushions. Is a nice hang out space for relaxing and enjoying coffee or drinks with friends. The area also includes a grill for whatever you'd like to cook up. Is difficult to portray the comfortable vibe of the house in the pictures. I'm the iphone photographer so pics are a bit rudimentary and hardly do the house justice. I also live on the property in the adjacent back cottage. I'm a native Texan and long-time Austinite that can give you insight and recommendations about the city according to what you're seeking, but am just as happy to not cross paths as the cottage is pretty autonomous. The house is super convenient to all things in central Austin and is a great place to relax and recharge during your stay. A bit of history from the Austin Historical Commission about the cottage - "these cottages were built by the Calcasieu Lumber Company of Austin as small dwellings in the 1920s and 1930s. Founded in the 1880s, Calcasieu Lumber Company was Austin's first lumber yard. The company had standardized plans, and provided all the materials, even the crews for the construction of these houses on an owner’s site. The Calcasieu cottages are unique to Austin, and have a signature Romantic Tudor Revival style, with steeply pitched hipped roofs – many residents have long referred to them as “fairy tale cottages” because of their soaring rooflines. Calcasieu manufactured these cottages through the 1930s, but stopped with this romantic Tudor Revival style prior to World War II. The Calcasieu Lumber Company was an Austin institution, and their cottages represent a uniquely Austin manifestation of an architectural style that is found nowhere else in the country. Our beautiful, minimalist Tiny House is a comfortable home base for tourists and business travelers. For leisure you are minutes from Lady Bird Lake and in the heart of the East Side entertainment. The Tiny House is also connected to 1GB fiber internet for business travelers and streaming video. We love dogs but they are an extra $25 per stay and require prior approval. We also have complimentary bikes and if you are a Tesla fan free EV charging.
The Kanga Tiny House comfortably sleeps two people, sharing a queen bed. If you are traveling with a third person, or simply need extra sleeping space, we have a twin-sized air mattress available for you to borrow, or a pac'n'play for a little one. (Please ask for this in your reservation request if you need it). Floor space is limited, so we may rearrange furniture to comfortably accommodate your group. Check-in time is 3pm or later. Access is through a keyless lock for which you'll be provided a code prior to approval, so late night check-ins are not a problem. Check-out time is 12pm. Dogs are permitted on a case-by-case basis for an additional per visit fee of $25, and approval must be obtained ahead of a booking being made. The fee will be added to the booking through a booking alteration/special offer. In cases of Instant Books, we'll submit a request for pet fee payment through the Airbnb system. Guests must keep their dogs supervised at all times when in the yard, leashed when outside the yard, and must pick up after them. The Kanga Tiny House is roughly 200 square feet, and features: - 1GB fiber Internet (through WiFi Airport Extreme) - We have a Roku TV with several free apps and a Netflix subscription. - USB Charger for your devices - Wireless Charging Pad from Ikea (your device must be wireless enabled) We keep the place well stocked with all of the basics, as well as extra towels and blankets. We are: - 15 minutes (6.6 miles) from Austin Bergstrom International Airport, - 5 minutes (1.5 miles) from the Austin Convention Center, - Approx. $6 or $7 Uber/Lyft ride from downtown, - 1.7 miles to Austin's famous Rainey Street bar and restaurant district. We recommend taking Uber/Lyft unless you feel like a 30 minute walk, - 3 blocks away from the Lady Bird Lake trailhead on Pleasant Valley, for walking/biking/running (by Longhorn Dam). If you enjoy exploring on foot, or alternative transit options like bikes and buses, this is a good spot for you. You'll be just one block away from Cesar Chavez St, a major thoroughfare that goes into downtown, where there's an eclectic mix of dining, drinking, retail, services, gas stations, and single family homes. We're only a few short blocks from the Lady Bird Lake trail and head over Longhorn Dam, which pops you out onto a hiking, biking, and running loop that is several miles long. The boardwalk over the lake provides great views of downtown. There are plenty of things in walking distance, and we recommend looking at our Guidebook for more details. Our favorites for food & groceries: - JuiceLand on E Cesar Chavez, a smoothie & juice spot, approx. 3 minutes away - Tacos Guerrero on Cesar Chavez & Pleasant Valley, fantastic breakfast tacos for only $2 a piece - La Barbecue on E Cesar Chavez (we recommend preordering, at least 5 days in advance, to save yourself a couple of hours in a long line for the best brisket in town). - Kemuri Tatsu-Ya, 1.5 blocks away, fantastic Texas & Japanese fusion food - Juniper, 1 block away, a small plates restaurant with great cocktails - Counter Culture on E Cesar Chavez, a vegan restaurant, 2 blocks away - Blue Owl Brewing, a sour-mashed beer micro brewery, 1 block away - Juniper, a classy Italian restaurant with great wine and outdoor seating, 1 block away - HEB on E 7th, a grocery store, approx. 10 minutes away - Hi Hat on E 6th, a gastropub, approx. 15 minutes away - Counter Cafe on E 6th, a breakfast & lunch diner, approx. 15 minutes away - Launderette on Holly St at St Martinez Jr St has one of the best burgers in town plus a tasty rotating dessert menu. There are many more options for dining and services. If you prefer to drive to any of these you'll get there in less than 5 minutes. We are avid travelers ourselves, and love staying with AirBnB hosts any chance we get. We want to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, and are completely open to frank feedback on how to improve your time in the Kanga Tiny House.
The guesthouse is in the gentrifying East Side neighborhood. It's a wonderful, artsy, quirky place in the heart of the East Side entertainment district. There are countless restauraunts, food trucks, bars, and even four breweries within walking distance. Lady Bird Lake and the hike and bike trail are just a couple blocks away. The Convention Center is minutes away and all of downtown is easily accessible by e-scooter, e-bike, and rideshare. We are just 10 minutes from the airport.

Nestled in the very back of our backyard amid the cacti and bamboo, this sun-filled 1 bdrm, 1 bath cottage comfortably fits two. Enjoy spitting-distance access to UT, downtown Austin, I-35 and the MetroRail, as well as the restaurants, coffee shops, food trailers and parks of the eclectic Eastside Cherrywood neighborhood. Or just laze about on our hammock. It's accessible through our driveway or a gate on the other side of our yard, giving you complete privacy to you come and go as you like. The queen-sized Murphy bed folds up to give even more space. Other features include a lots of window space with blinds, a large desk/table, 24/7 WIFI access, and a mini-fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. And of course, AC (as well as heat for the one week of the year it's cold here). We're located in the tree-lined French Place section of Austin's eclectic Cherrywood neighborhood, near campus and very central. Downtown is only a few minutes away by car, bus or train. You'll have an easy two-block walk to assorted coffee shops, groceries, liquor stores, taco joints and food trailers, as well as a fair share of well-reviewed restaurants. You can hop-skip to the bus or drive in under five minutes to the nearest MetroRail station (a must during SXSW or ACL, when parking downtown is impossible). We'll work with you on check in-and-out times. Our two large cats will work with you on any feline needs. (Though they're not allowed in the space, so if you're allergic, don't worry.) The bathroom has a sink, shower, self contained eco-friendly toilet and bath supplies including a hair dryer. Our location is very centralized so you can get anywhere in Austin easily. It's only a 12 minute drive to downtown! Why stay in a boring hotel when you can have your own private house for a fraction of the price?
This tiny house is perfect for a short getaway for two people. But if you really want to sleep three people it is possible (although I don't recommend it) with two in the queen bed and one on the twin air mattress. Just know that it will be very tight space for 3.
We're located on a small street and the neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Within walking distance- Some great Asian and Mexican restaurants as well as a Target and bus station. There are tons of restaurants near by- Ramen Tatsu-ya, Stiles Switch BBQ, Din Ho Chinese BBQ, Baby Greens, Hanabi Sushi, Tam Deli & Cafe, Royal Jelly, El Nuevo Mexico, Chago's, Pint House Pizza, Torchies- the list goes on and on. Other attractions close by include Capitol City Comedy Club, Top Golf, Alamo Drafthouse, Pinballz old school arcade, Ikea and the Domain restaurants & shopping.

We have a very cute, small studio space with kitchenette and full bathroom in the back of our home. Desk folds away for more room. There is a twin bed with an extra mattress you can put on the floor. Town Lake is 1/2 mile away and downtown is 1 mile. Walk to many of the east side bars. If you haven't experienced the East Side of Austin, you're in for a treat! Hip "Weather Up" bar just two blocks away. Bars and restaurants of the Rainey Street district an easy 1 mile walk. Convention center is a 1 mile walk. East 5th & 6th bars and restaurants are within 1 mile walk. We walk downtown all the time! 2 blocks to the bus stop, 5 blocks to the train stop that takes you right to the Convention Center. Charming quiet and safe Holly street neighborhood. Separate alley entrance. No smoking and no pets. WiFi available. *Please note that the birdhouse has been through some changes! Welcome to our studio in the heart of Hyde Park! Our private studio is located in our backyard with parking in front of our house. You can walk to Hyde Park Village, the Triangle or North Loop and it is minutes to downtown and UT.
Our private studio offers convenient access to everything you want to do in Austin. It is small (approximately 220 square feet, like a small hotel room) but what it lacks in size, it makes up for with charm (and everything you need for a great stay). The studio is located in the backyard of our house (private fenced yard, side entrance) and is separate from the main house, although it shares an insulated wall with a home office, typically in use from 9-5. Also included are WiFi, and smart TV (no cable, but Netflix account pre logged in.) The studio has a brand new queen sized bed. Due to its limited size, we do not allow the studio to be used by more than 2 full-sized adults. It is perfect for a couple or small family. The kitchenette includes a mini fridge and microwave. Additionally, all of the windows have window coverings for privacy, though the top windows are uncovered for natural light . As we are located in the middle of a historic residential community (and love our neighbors and this is our backyard), keeping outdoor noise down is critical. If you're a fan of blaring music and doing beer bongs, you're in the wrong place. The studio is located near several bus stops in a safe neighborhood that is very safe to walk in. Send me a message if you are bringing your dog, so I can make certain that the crate is left in the kitchenette for you. The tiny house is an 8 ft x 16 ft and is and is an open space. The private kitchenette and bathroom are about 15 feet from the tiny house in the very back of the main home. Your reservation is an acceptance of the space. Spa shoes and robes are provided so that your short walk to the kitchenette and bathroom are comfortable. There's always an extra blanket above the microwave and an umbrella in the kitchenette. The new AC/heater will make it cozy no matter what the weather is like. Everyone that reads about the space prior to reserving LOVES the tiny house and the space. Those who do not read, should read so they will know what to expect. We are VERY proud of the space as it is AUSTINTATIOUS! No one else will have access to your kitchenette and bathroom but you. This cozy apartment right on East 6th St. is right in the middle of the action. Easy walking distance to the Convention Center, and tons of great food trucks, restaurants and bars are just at your doorstep as well. This is a very cute apartment, but be warned: It is in a 100 year old building so it’s got its quirks. There’s also a great little low key bar right downstairs. This means it can sometimes get a bit noisy, but the bar typically closes by midnight on the weekdays.
The apartment is thoughtfully decorated and very cozy. Nice linens, fluffy towels, good coffee all included. *please do keep in mind that the apartment is above a great little bar, so there will be occasional noise.

Huge kitchen island with 6 stools is perfect for collaboration/work, dining, playing a game and/or socializing. Very large kitchen is great for meal preparation, complete with stainless steel appliances, gas stove, refrigerator/freezer, garbage disposal, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, and coffee maker.
