✨ We had a wonderful two-night stay at Rose Cottage in Eskdale. It’s an absolutely charming and cosy cottage, thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need – from kitchen essentials to lovely little touches that make it feel like a home from home. The location is perfect for exploring the area. We enjoyed two beautiful walks during our stay – one from Dalegarth to St Catherine’s Church, and another to Devoke Water and the atmospheric stone circle on Wonder Hill. The scenery is stunning, and it felt like we had the landscape all to ourselves. Rose Cottage was the perfect base to return to – peaceful, comfortable, and full of character. Highly recommended for a relaxing break in one of the Lake District’s quieter, most beautiful valleys.

We had a fantastic visit. The property is cosy and very well equipped: nothing lacking in the kitchen for a variety of meals for four. The location is perfect for Scafell and a variety of local walks, as well as the coast. Thanks for leaving us a generous allocation of goodies to get us settled in!

Amazing place. Perfect for the family to get out of our busy lives. The playground was a hit with our kids and we had a lovely time doing hikes while coming back to a lovely place. Well placed for covering the western side of the Lakes- did lots of hikes from there. Madonna and Tony were gracious hosts and were always reachable and responsive to any of our needs. The place is beautiful and well worth a visit. Thank you both so much.

It was a nice, spacious and very comfortable house. The location was fabulous with amazing views. Peter was very helpful with our questions. There's lots to do and see - and great to find such a beautiful and tranquil place to come back to. The garden was nice too!
