Lake house vacation rentals in Elk Lake

We had a wonderful time at Shawnigan Lake, staying in Todd's beautiful cottage! It was perfectly situated right on the lake, with a fantastic dock space perfect for swimming and other activities. We were close to the train trestle, a lovely walking/running trail, a restaurant with a picturesque lake view, and a corner store for quick purchases. Grocery stores were about 15-20 minute drive away. All in all it was an incredible place to vacation for an active family! Thank you so much Todd!

Richard was a great host! The place was amazing. I highly recommend riding the raft and enjoying marshmallows in the fireplace! I'm genuinely grateful to Richard for having flexing check-in and checkout times since it allowed me to plan my trip way easier

Had a great time! The dock was an amazing spot to have a coffee in the morning and enjoy the view. Easy drive to Victoria and other sites. It was very clean! Jim and Jeanette were super sweet and responsive to any needs. Would recommend to anyone!

Had a great time staying where - tucked away and overlooking the lake for a peaceful retreat. Close to the town and easy to get to from Friday harbour. Would recommend to arrive during the day or to googlemap the turn in beforehand as the turn can be easily missed at night!

We loved staying here. The house is great. The front porch, the side deck with grill and sun chairs and outdoor dining is great. The dock on the water is fabulous. Any specific questions or issues were addressed immediately. Its a really lovely spot. You can't do better on Shawnigan Lake!

My family and I were visiting Victoria for the first time to attend my nephew’s graduation and we couldn’t have been more appreciative of Charlotte’s hospitality and the pristine condition of the home. Although, this home is very pet friendly, there were only a few signs of dog hair which were quickly remedied with a fresh pair of available sheets. Charlotte was extremely responsive and provided excellent recommendations for local restaurants and activities. The views from the home are absolutely stunning, and it was so peaceful to relax on the porch after a long day. The home is just a 5min drive to several restaurants and grocery stores and easily accessible to the highway. There is a tenant on the bottom level in a completely separate part of the home, but we quickly forgot they were there. When my family’s flight home was canceled at the last minute, Charlotte went above and beyond to accommodate us and ease our stress. I can’t say enough how grateful we are to have stayed here.

The views of the lake are incredible. We enjoyed our stay so much we added an extra night.

Shauna was really responsive and helpful if we had any questions. The view of the lake was beautiful and the space was comfortable and worked great for our big group.

I spent a few days with my extended family at a wonderful place filled with family activities. We enjoyed champagne provided by Loris and had a great time fishing and boating on the lake. The private deck, fishing gear, and rowing boat were perfect additions. The place was quiet, clean, and had a cozy, homey feel, with beautiful paintings, family games, free Netflix, and PS5 games. I highly recommend it and will definitely suggest it to others.

Had a great stay at Lindsay’s cottage on the lake, despite mostly crappy weather. We were a groups of 5 friends getting together for a long weekend of gravel cycling. Convenient access to the Cowichan Valley Rail Trail and other back roads nearby. Accommodation worked well for us with space in the basement to keep our bikes dry. Cooked most of our dinners in the well supplied kitchen. Nice TV with cable allowed us to watch the NHL playoffs in the evenings. Didn’t get to take advantage of the lakefront amenities due to the weather. Would definitely do this again. Thanks Lindsay!

Sandra’s lakehouse was an awesome way for our two families to escape together for a long weekend. It was beautiful and modern, right on the lake with a stunning dock and view from huge windows. The open plan living area and kitchen meant we could all easily hang out while cooking or eating. The deck was spacious and we would have loved to use it more but with the weather it was a little damp for us to be out there. The house was warm, bedding very clean, everything you could think of to cook with in the well-stocked kitchen, and a lovely quiet area. the dock was fantastic to paddle board off of or fish, which our kids loved. The sauna was appreciated by the adults. We had a wonderful stay, thank you!

We had a great stay here! House was perfect for our large family weekend gathering. Nice outdoor area to use as well and a beautiful walking area nearby at the swan lake sanctuary.

Great place, clean and felt like home with snacks, coffee, tea and everything else you might need in the kitchen. If you’re looking for something close to town this probably isn’t your space but the neighbourhood is quiet and felt very safe.

We had a great few days in these beautiful surroundings. It’s great that there are trails within walking distance! The place was very clean and it was so great to have 3 bathrooms :)

I'm a repeat visitor to this house. It is a perfect spot to get away for a few days or more. Nothing like those amazing sunsets and relaxing on your own private dock on the lake!
