Family-friendly vacation rentals in Dolphin Sands

If you are looking for an amazing family retreat on the Eastern Coast then book this house now (if you can!). We cannot recommend it highly enough. We had brilliant communication and advice from Sally prior to arrival with lots of invaluable tips on making our stay better. The house is beautifully designed and immensely comfortable. I have never come across a better equipped kitchen in a B&B before. This is very clearly a family home and lots of love has gone into making it comfortable. Outside is truly special, with the most incredible ocean-front setting. The house is surrounded by the ocean on 3 sides, giving a constant backdrop of waves crashing on the shore. The ocean constantly changes colour mesmerically throughout the day, and is particularly spectacular at sunrise in front the house. The wildlife is amazing; wallabies, possums, eagles, swallows, plovers and cicadas. So much to see and do in the neighbourhood to fill your days - a week is not enough. Book it if you can!!

A beautiful spot to decompress after a busy few days in Hobart. Betul and Defne’s home was a stunning location to cook up with some friends and enjoy a bit of R&R. A good book, some card games and great company with the most beautiful outlook!

A lovely, peaceful and spacious cottage. We had a great time and found the cottage convenient to Coles Bay and Freycinet NP. We would love to stay at Beachcomber again.

Thank you for hosting us. Very spacious cottage, kids loved the cottage and space around the cottage to ride their kick scooter. Reception staff and Rob are very responsive, attended to the bathroom door issue immediately. Eatery and bar in walking distance. Highly recommend Rob’s place! We will book in next time too when visiting the area.

WOW! What a find! This was a real highlight of our trip. The location is spectacular. You feel right at home and 'away from it all'. The little wallabies hopping around are so cute. The sauna was a delight and the outdoor tub was generous and kept the water warm for ages. There are lots of little nooks and crannies to curl up in and soak in the view with a book and a cup of tea. Thank you for having us stay, we are already planning our next trip to Tassie! x

We absolutely loved our stay at St Helens. Trees from every window. Ocean glimpses from the deck out the back, where we could see the boats, and enjoy nibbles and BBQs. Huge backyard with grass and trees for kids to play. Amazing shower pressure, nice and hot. Such a good location to explore the local area and surrounds. Tomato sauce in the pantry was a life saver! Nice quiet street and enjoyed watching the birds and wallabies out the front each morning.

Our trip was short and sweet - but we wish we had booked longer! Location and accommodation was simply stunning, couldn't have asked for more. Lots of little touches that made us feel relaxed and in holiday-mode! Thanks for having us!

A great cottage, spacious interior, comfy beds, in a perfect location for exploring St Helen's and surrounds. Walking distance into main street. We enjoyed our stay!

Had a wonderful experience at the blue house. Stunning views, all necessary amenities. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in Coles bay.

Sandpiper cottages were cosy and close to the beach. We liked the idea of closing off the deck so the dogs could go outside. The place was ideal for us and close enough for an evening trip to Bicheno to see the lightshow in July.

Catherine’s home is terrific: lovely, within walking distance of places to eat (we loved the RSL); the kitchen was NOT too small-there was plenty of room for both of us with a well-stocked pantry with olive oil, vinegar, a variety of spices, mustards…it is in easy driving distance of so many places to eat/see. We wouldn’t hesitate to say “just book it”. You’ll be glad you did

We had a fantastic stay at Bob’s place - the ultimate beach house within easy walking distance to the beach. We really liked the laid back surf vibes of Bob’s decor and how he has fashioned the property. It is awesome and perfect for its location.

A stay at Rockpool is truly food for the soul. We spent a memorable week in this glorious house, soaking up this beautiful pocket of Tasmania. The house is so cleverly designed - it is expansive and luxe but also earthy and relaxed. It embraces and respects the wilderness it is nestled in and allows you to really watch nature’s great show. We were thrilled to share the space with the local wildlife, to stargaze at night and enjoy the soundscape of the ocean and birdsong. Thank you Lynne and Paul for sharing your breathtaking property.

We stayed at Peace and Plenty for Christmas and it was a really special time. A beach just out the back door where we enjoyed daily ocean swims. The house has picturesque views of Freycinet, and magical sunsets. Our kids had so much fun in the pool. We cooked with produce from the abundant fruit and veggie garden. It was a blissful holiday. We’d stay again in a heartbeat.
