Cottage vacation rentals in Darlington

We had a lovely couple of days at Laburnum Cottage, it’s a beautiful cottage and location. Hopefully we’ll get back one day.

Well what can I say about our Easter break at Scorton, other than fabulous.! What a house. What a location. What a host. The house itself was well set out and prepared. There was only three of us, but easily fit more. Locality you have an amazing village green with two pubs that do food. We tried both. Lots of walking locally and visits to neighbouring Ripon, Richmond and Northallerton. Loads of space in the house and we were welcomed with some Prosecco, ginger biscuits and Filter coffee which was a lovely touch. We loved the log fire, which had plenty of logs, to last us over the four days. We will definitely be back ❤️

Julia was a brilliant host from booking until check out! The cottage was absolutely stunning and so was the surrounding areas. Julia was very friendly and helpful, we went as a group of work friends and was being a little too loud without realising, Julia was understanding and just politely asked if we could quieten a little outside due to neighbours, to which we apologised and enjoyed our night. I would definitely return in the future, hopefully with the family for a longer stay. Thank you so much Julia!!!!!

Lovely little cottage. Living area is great for 4 people and we loved having the open fire! Kitchen was well-equipped too. Gorgeous area with lots of walks straight from the front door, including about 3.5 miles to the Epiacum Roman fort up the hill. Hosts were absolutely lovely and very helpful, great value for money and the added perk of the hot tub. We'd definitely come back! Thanks for a brilliant few days x

Wow. What a fantastic week staying in a fabulous cottage in glorious North Yorkshire. Elizabeth and Peter were excellent hosts keeping us informed daily on the goings on at their amazing farm. The cottage itself is fully equipped and SO comfortable. Situated in the countryside, but equally not far from historic villages, towns, and landmarks, the cottage itself is home from home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and hope that as a family we will be able to return. Thank you Elizabeth and Peter x

A beautiful cottage in a great location , a short walk into the main town , with plenty of shops, restaurants, pubs and walks. Cottage had great facilities , and amazing hot tub. Very clean. Plenty of utensils etc in the kitchen. Fantastic shower. Overall a very relaxing stay. Super cosy. Will definitely be back, we loved it , Thank you 😁

FANTASTIC STAY, BIGGER THAN YOU EXPECT. VERY CLEAN, EVERYTHING YOU NEED IN THE KITCHEN , BEDS VERY COMFORTABLE, FOUR ADULTS , 3 YEAR OLD CHILD AND CASEY THE CAVAPOO WE HAD WELL ENOUGH SPACE ! EASY SHORT DRIVE TO MIDDLETON LODGE ESTATE AND RICHMOND ! WE WILL BE BACK , THANK YOU

Wow! What a fantastic stay at Lanehead. This place has already become one of our favourite locations to stop. The property was spotlessly clean with plenty of utensils to use and a fantastic shower. The bed was really corny with a superb view to wake up to out of the long window. This is a dog Glover’s paradise, as there is an enclosed garden for dogs to explore. The added bonus is the two horses that come to say hello, who are obviously best friends. Location is amazing, with plenty to explore, great walks And great places to eat. We particularly enjoyed walking around Richmond and the castle. I can highly recommend the Kingshead hotel for lovely food and a friendly pint. The eagle at Gilling West was also nice. Thank you so much for a fantastic day. We booked again after only being there for 12 hours .

Wonderful place, as Bev says - the place gives you a warm hug. Relaxing, quiet, and perfect rest for us and our anxious rescue dog! Lovely being near the river, lots of birds and wildlife nearby. Felt right at home and hope to return again soon!

Cottage was ideally located for our visit to the North East. Cottage was cosy and had everything you would need. Living room tidy and well presented as were the bedrooms and bathrooms. Some traffic noise during the day, but not excessive and it didn't disrupt our sleep. My husband and friend are over 6ft so they had to duck through some of the doorways but, that is a very minor thing. Overall a lovely cottage which has been maintained well and has some wonderful old features - would visit again.

We had a lovely stay! The place was tidy, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. We did experience a couple of minor issues, like some sockets not working and a brief problem with the hot water boiler. However, the host was extremely helpful and quick to respond, and everything was sorted out promptly. Really appreciated the support — it made all the difference. Would happily recommend this place to others!

A lovely place to stay. Cosy and compact but with everything you need and a gorgeous garden. Flowers and flapjacks were a super welcome!

I had a lovely time staying at Stanley Cottage. It is extremely comfortable and well equipped. Everything was as described and the location is brilliant for exploring the moors, very convenient for pubs and the cafe in Osmotherley and also very peaceful. Would definitely like to stay there again.

Kate's place was exactly as described, perfect for our two night stay. Everything was clean and beds really comfortable. Kate was a great host and replied to any queries straight away. Would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely stay here. Hot tub was amazing. Around the hut was so calm and quiet. The biscuits and Prosecco were a lovely added touch

We had a lovely stay at The Hayloft while visiting my sister who lives nearby. We love the area and the cottage is in a lovely peaceful location away from the main road and with footpaths on the doorstep. We had lots of great days out revisiting places like Richmond, Barnard Castle and Deepdale Wood and Raby Castle. The cottage was very clean, cosy and well equipped with a lovely view of the fields from the bedroom and a beautiful private garden. The bathroom has also been updated really nicely since the photos were taken for the listing and really exceeded expectations. Thank you for an amazing break. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

Beautiful place has everything you could need for a chilled weekend with friends, would highly recommend, so cozy with stunning views and right by the river which was a great little dog walk. We enjoyed the bbq and chiminea, also EV charger in the back was a big plus for us!

Back at Ivy Cottage again, we had another great stay. We love the hut tub and pool table, and plenty of space for everyone. Thanks Jane.

Perfect location for attending a wedding at the Croft Hotel as only 5 min walk away. Very neat & clean, comfortable beds & nice towels. Easy to find & check in Barbara very responsive. Lovely area for walking & good base for exploring local attractions. Enjoyed a couple of evenings in the Comet pub ... very friendly locals. Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend... thank you.

The cottage is great - very peaceful and homely. The location is fab - quiet and tranquil - perfect for a relaxing getaway. The place was really nicely decorated and felt warm and welcoming. Had everything you need for your stay. The location is rural but within a 15 min drive of Northallerton, Yarm and more. The hosts are super responsive, friendly and helpful. They left excellent recommendations in the welcome pack. Will definitely be back :)
