A CLASSIC STONE CABIN SURROUNDED BY THE MAJESTIC CEDERBERG MOUNTAINS ON A PRIVATE WORKING FARM
“We had an absolutely magical stay. The cabin exceeded expectations with the highly attentive decor and beautiful layout with different "zones" - stargazing chairs, pool, day-bed, fire pit, garden, fireplace, and more. The farm itself is spectacular and we thoroughly enjoyed a walk to the river to watch the sunset. Simon was a very hospitable and responsive host. Would nightly recommend for summer or winter and can't wait to come back!”
This grey-stone cottage is built against a rock face which is a dramatic back wall for the interior. All the stone used for the walls was collected nearby, so the cottage disappears into the theatre of the rocks and landscape. The views are spectacular in every direction, and the interior is warm and cosy with wooden floors and Cape furniture and colourful Himalayan textiles. The bathroom has a dramatic shower set against the rock-face, and there is a wonderful secluded outdoor bath.
“Magical. Healing. Slow. We needed to get “away from it all” and the city madness. Grysklip - surrounded by smiling mountain faces, fynbos and silence - took us on a dreamy 3day journey. We’ll be back for at least a week! Thank you Michael, gryskat, Joseph and Johnny!”
I have decided to rent out my personal farm house\ guest house to happy road trippers seeking solitude and a peaceful surrounding. The house is within a valley surrounded by 48 hectares of open land, beautiful mountain (cederberg) backdrops and a river with three natural swimming areas within walking distance of the guest house and the place include a 25m lap pool right in front of the veranda! Oh and plenty of clean breathable air :). There is one full sized bed so its best suited for couples.
“This is the most amazing place! The spacious, airy house is beautiful- incredibly stylish and full of lovely and interesting things. The garden is gorgeous, full of plants and birds, with a long swimming pool from which you can gaze at the extraordinary landscape. The location is amazing, a stunningly beautiful mountain valley, remote and peaceful but you don’t feel unduly cut off. Simon, Guthrie’s dad was very friendly and welcoming, and Ninja the dog, who visited us occasionally, was cute and friendly. We spent 3 very happy days here and wished we could have stayed at least a week. We will definitely return.”
