Vacation rentals in Carroll County

This was the second time staying at The Chalet in 2024 for my wife and I -- and our children who came in and out to visit for a holiday break with extended family in Fancy Gap. Maxine is very personable and prompt to reply to any questions or messages that we sent to her. The Chalet is a beautiful place at the edge of the golf resort -- and its quiet solace was a welcome place for us to stay during this family visit. Even in the midst of a very heavy rainstorm, our time inside was warm and comfortable! Thanks, Maxine! Happy New Year!! We look forward to staying here again when we visit Fancy Gap in the future!

The PERFECT home for our family while in the area for a wedding! We have stayed in dozens of Air BnB's over the years and this one definitely ranks at the top. This very clean, newly built home has it all: huge spacious rooms, solid custom-built cabinets & woodwork, plenty of bathrooms, well-stocked kitchen, cozy fireplace, awesome deck, perfect layout of the rooms for visiting, hair dryers, iron and ironing board, comfortable beds and furniture and lots of cozy lamps in the living room and bedrooms! The private setting overlooking the river is so tranquil! If we ever are back in this area, we will definitely book it again! Thankyou so much!

We were very satisfied with the home. Angela was responsive to all questions in a timely manner. There is a large herd of deer frequenting the property and we enjoyed watching the yearlings play in the yard.

Beautiful cabin and great host. Great view from cabin and lots of dear in the evening. Very quiet and peaceful. Not a lot to do in the immediate area but everything we needed fairly close. Great central location to get to all kinds of surrounding areas, activities and locations. Would very highly recommend this cabin and host.

We would definitely stay here again. Bathrooms and kitchen were spotless. On a clear day we had a beautiful view of the mountains and the valley below. Quaint shopping in Fancy Gap. Check out the wings and a beverage at Creek Bottom Brewing in Galax. Short trip to Mt Airy NC. We left feeling refreshed.

We have stayed here a few times and every time we enjoy it. Beautiful surroundings, easy to navigate to and clean. We continue to come back because Phyllis is a great host. Highly recommend.
