Experience the joy of staying in an off grid solar powered house. This modern light filled 2 bedroom house with open plan living area offers spectacular ever changing views down the valley and across the sea to Kangaroo Island. The house stands alone on 2.5 acres. Secluded and private country property with 'walled' secret garden, olive grove, orchard, native and exotic trees. Generous living area with polished wooden floors throughout, a cook's kitchen and floor to ceiling glass doors. The main bedroom opens onto the deck and the garden beyond or the stars above. Enjoy the hot water outdoor shower under the sun or stars. (yes, we do also have an indoor shower) Watch the wildlife - native birds, kangaroos and the occasional echidna through the floor to ceiling picture window. Quality bed and bath linen provided. Glass door woodheater (wood provided). Gas cooking Hi-fi stereo (with MP3 input), CD collection. Gas barbecue Outdoor shower with hot water. PLEASE NOTE - we have no wifi. 90 mins south of Adelaide GPO 5 mins to Deep Creek Conservation Park 10 mins from Cape Jervis and Sealink ferry to Kangaroo Island. A short drive to Morgans Beach at Cape Jervis, Second Valley and Rapid Bay beaches. Experience the scenic walk (or the 4wd road) to the surf and popular fishing spot at Blowhole Beach. Discover the varied walks within Deep Creek Conservation Park with its stunning coastal scenery, or explore beyond to Tunkalilla, Waitpinga and Parsons Beaches along Range Rd to Victor Harbor. Visit the beautiful Raywood Nursery growing and selling exotic and native plants 5mins away on Tappanappa Rd, with a 1000yr old Grass tree (Xanthorrhoea sp.) growing near the carpark! Please note, there is no air conditioning in the house, though there are ceiling fans and other fans. We have a dam on the property, which may or may not have water, so parents with young children will need to supervise them at all times.Please note. Children under 16 are $10 extra per child per night. Adults $25 extra per adult per night.

Our home is large and well-appointed - it offers space, privacy and all creature comforts. There's a slow combustion fire for the cooler months (we provide wood ), a fully equipped kitchen, multiple lounge areas, outdoor eating/deck with Webber BBQ, a dedicated TV room, 2 bathrooms, and a laundry. You'll also find free WIFI, board games, books and table tennis!

The town centre is only a short 2 minute drive away, as is the beautiful beach (or a easy, flat walk). Don't forget to bring your furbabies with you, we are a pet friendly stay! Space & peace to self isolate in beautiful surroundings with lots of trees & fabulous views. Sit by the wood combustion fire & warm your soul or lie in until lunchtime in soft linen sheets, listening to birdsong. Lost in the Vines is a very private space in the McLaren Vale wine district, surrounded by vines & views, with lots of great walks, wineries & restaurants nearby. The house is all yours but I am generally around if you have any queries. Walk, ride, read or just kick back.
