james' place castle cottage

LeAhRating, 5 stars1 week ago
So much information given about the surrounding area and what it had to offer. Was very helpful and quick with replies, even let us check in an hour earlier. Left us a little present of Prosecco! Started our girls holiday off right and also left with some milk and home made Welsh cakes! Which was need after our long drive down. Place was really tidy and clean, was hard to keep it that way. Location is amazing and the people around town were super friendly and helpful. We are already thinking of visiting again as we didn’t have enough time to do everything we wanted Thank you so much for a lovely long weekend.
A well-maintained outdoor garden features manicured hedges and vibrant greenery. A spacious paved area provides seating under a large shade tree, surrounded by a lush lawn and decorative gravel paths guiding visitors through the tranquil space.

A Coastal Path Beach House With Sea Views

PaulRating, 5 stars3 days ago
We had a great time here this week, it’s a great little spot to relax. The hot tub was perfect, the place was clean and tidy and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. We made a roast dinner and found everything we needed in the kitchen. I would recommend finding the coastal walk if you visit here - its down the gravel road, right into the trees, you get to a sign that says the route is closed but ignore it, (I think it’s outdated), turn right up the steps and walk for about 30mins, you get to an amazing view point of the cliff edges and beaches. Pretty sure you can carry on to Llantwit Major on this route also. It was our 2nd time here and we will return again. Great little gem! 💎 👌

Hawthorn Lodge with Jacuzzi, sauna and play area

JoshuaRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
We really enjoyed our stay at Julia’s property. The place was spotlessly clean and located in a quiet area near the local reservoir. My kids enjoyed using the park and the trampoline they had on the grounds and Julia provided us with feed for the chickens which they loved! It was a nice touch having the jacuzzi and sauna. We made great use of that. Both Julia and Joe were great hosts and if you’re visiting the area I would highly recommend!
A dining table is set with plates and glassware, positioned near a window that offers views of the surrounding hills. A green vase with flowers adds a touch of color, complementing the soft tones of the walls and the comfortable wooden chairs.

We had a lovely time at Raymond’s cottage, it’s perfect for a peaceful retreat away from busy lives. The cottage was spotless, had everything we needed, fully stocked kitchen, lovely rear seating area built over a stream which is such a great idea, listening to the birds singing and the stream flowing along with a great view of a field and trees. Beds were very comfortable, nice powerful shower! the staircase was no trouble at all for us. We would definitely return when visiting this area and would recommend, lots to do, beautiful walks and scenery. Close enough to walk to town. Thank you for our Welsh cakes and wine. Perfect ! The neighbours were very friendly too.

Stayed for 3 nights with friends. Amazing barn with clean, tidy and high end finish. The location was simply stunning with great views over the fields and into the horse fields. The Loft at Duffryn Mawr Cottages

JoanneRating, 5 stars9 months ago
My family and I have stayed in two of these pretty cottages. Each were beautifully decorated and well presented, spotlessly clean, gorgeous bathrooms with full baths, kitchens were very comprehensive and each cottage I stayed in, even had a washing machine. The beds were extremely comfortable and we’ve slept in 8 of them. Rosie was just lovely. Friendly, easy-going, and noting was too much trouble. Rosie responded to my messages quickly and comprehensively. -Even when I asked if they could spare a drop of milk for my cup of tea. Gardens were well kept and extremely pretty. Local pubs were all great. We enjoyed a gorgeous meal at one, which Rosie actually called up and booked for us. I highly recommend these beautiful cottages and this lovely host. 15mins away from Barry Island for entertainment, yet situated in the most beautiful and peaceful surrounding Wales has to offer.

The Laundry

IngridRating, 5 stars9 months ago
The lovely stay in the laundry cottage enhanced our holiday experience tremendously. The gardens are beautiful, the pool a joy to swim in and the surroundings peaceful and quaint. We walked to the nature preserve with amazing sand dunes and a big beach and Ogmore castle. Our hosts Lana and Rory were very responsive and accommodating. We are looking forward to coming back soon for more exploring.

Cosy cottage, Brecon Beacons National Park

JackRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a lovely week as a large family in Sarah’s cottage. Plenty of space in the cottage much bigger than the photos suggests! The cottage itself is beautiful as well as the lovely garden with a gorgeous view. Stunning scenery around. Not too far from big towns like Abergavenny in the car but also walkable to a lovely canal, chip shop, pub etc. Sarah is very accommodating and reply’s very quickly. Property is difficult to find so do follow Sarah’s instructions. What 3 words code would be helpful to have if you’re like me and get easily lost! Overall great stay with family in beautiful, large, clean cottage. Thanks Sarah!
