Family-friendly vacation rentals in Butte County

My family and I spend a weekend at Julie’s cute Chico house while in town visiting family and running the annual Almond Bowl. This was the perfect spot for our trip as it was so close to everything we did, and it was nice to have the backyard space for the kids. We had everything we needed and were so comfortable that we kept joking we now want to move to Chico. Julie was a wonderful host and was always responsive to our questions. We will definitely stay here again next year if we can!

Our family enjoyed our stay at Stephanie’s house. She was incredibly friendly and proactive ensuring that our stay was smooth. The house was comfortable and setup so well including a clean pool, equipped kitchen, beach towels and the list goes on.

We decided on a last-minute staycation, and Julie was able to host us within an hour. We loved our stay—the hot tub was perfect for the rainy weather. The house was clean, well-organized, and had a cozy modern feel. Julie was wonderful, incredibly helpful, and super friendly. We would definitely stay again!

Charming, cozy and clean place to rest your head. Clean and super soft bedding and I slept beautifully on one of the most comfortable airbnb beds I’ve had. Cute decor - I absolutely love the above bed wall decor piece. Room stayed cool, nice perfect size patio with plenty of sitting room. Felt safe and very private. Showers are important to me and theirs was CLEAN and the water pressure, divine. Nicely stocked with coffee (decaf too!), and teas. The cleanliness did it for me. Thank you Sarah and Kirk.

We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of space in this house and backyard! It was clean, cute and had everything our group needed to have a fun relaxing weekend! Thank you Adam for the space and your flexibility when we asked to check in early.

The house is a super fun maze. Built in 1942 with what we finally decided were add ons. So fun! Plenty of space. A large eating table with 6 chairs. Which worked perfectly for my family’s activities. There’s even a super fun free library next door in case you forgot something to read or needed to donate some books. The rooms are large and the television was perfect for movie night. I would write more, however, my break is over. Definitely worth the price! Highly recommend.

Our stay at the cabin was wonderful! The location is serene, surrounded by tall trees, wildlife and beautiful stars. The fireplace is so toasty and makes the small space very cozy. We needed to contact the host during our visit and Nikita responded immediately with solutions to our needs. The main house is visible from the front door but the occupants are quiet and the cabin still felt secluded. Oregon House is very rural but the cafe and grocery store 5 minutes away have everything you will need. I highly recommend staying here if you want to get away and unwind from the world!

This was probably one of the best Airbnb experiences I've had! The place was PERFECT for a group, and it had everything you could possibly need (extra towels, tons of space for hanging, lots of games/activities). I really appreciated Sara Rose's prompt, helpful responses to my questions. The vintage charm was such a treat. I can't recommend this home enough!

The huge backyard was a fantastic space for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors, and the pool was a bonus. It’s perfect for families or anyone who enjoys a little extra room to unwind. The host was truly excellent—super responsive, welcoming, and thoughtful in ensuring we had everything we needed. The location couldn’t have been better, close to local attractions, restaurants, and transportation, yet still quiet and peaceful. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great stay!

Kay was a very Welcoming hostess, very attentive, made us feel at home. It is a very comfortable cottage, for my son and I, and our dog - she was very happy there. It also has an inspiring art garden.

We had a wonderful stay. The pool and hot tub were amazing. There was plenty of room for all of us. The pots and pans were a really nice brand.

This house is truly a live-in home. It is quite large, one-story that has plenty of room for a big family. The grounds have a very large pool, BBQ, and basketball court. The kitchen has been remodeled and easy to work in. Parts of the house are a bit dated and could use some updating (i.e wardrobe doors in bedrooms). We stayed in Winter but the house was warm and comfortable. It is only a couple blocks from Bidwell Park which a unique and wonderful place to walk. Our family would stay here, again.
