Blue apt. with free garage

KaiRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Almost everything was perfect. There’s a Lidl around so you can shop and cook your own meal in the well-equipped kitchen (No oil provided. You need to buy your own). Adjustable heat, comfortable sofa and bedroom - it just felt right at home. I could have stayed here for a month without any problems. Downside was that the host was not responsive. When I asked her about how to use the washing machine, she did not reply until days after I had already checked out…. Since I have never seen that kind of washing machine, I really needed some instructions. In the end I found the problem by myself. You need to loosen a specific part on the pipe before doing the laundry. Also, host did not provided shampoo (tho I found that many bnbs in Europe didn’t provide shampoo). Only hand soap was provided… so I bought my own shampoo as well. Despite these downsides, this place was still a really great deal. Super private, super safe, super quiet, super cozy. Would definitely stay here again.

Clean and comfortable apartment. Maja is super helpful and accurate. The bed is comfortable and the house is very warm (important since we were in a very cold period). There was everything you needed. Quiet and quiet neighborhood. Bus 72 in front of the building leads directly downtown in a few minutes.

Historic city center home with balcony

We had a fantastic stay at this apartment in the heart of Budapest! The apartment itself was not only nice but, more importantly, it was sparkling clean — which made a huge difference for me. Everything I needed was within walking distance, from restaurants and cafes to public transportation. Katalin, the host, was incredibly helpful and friendly. She responded to any questions or requests very quickly and made sure our stay was comfortable. I highly recommend this apartment for anyone visiting Budapest!

Tail of the Whale Apartment

ΠαναγιώτηςRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The apartment was honestly a hidden gem. Located in such a central place in the city, you would expect it to be very noisy, but it wasn't at all! The sound was completely blocked, loved it, even though it was next to the Nagycsarnok market and a few minutes walk from the Gellert thermal baths. Bernadett & Csaba were lovely, very helpful and they would respond extremely fast. Also, my favourite thing in the entire apartment was how warm it was, it felt so nice coming back home after walking through the cold of Budapest, it was very wholesome! I would definitely stay in this apartment again!

Urban is an extraordinary host which is very rare to come by! During my travels I still haven't met a host which is so generous, connective and willing to help at any given moment with lots of patience, as Urban does! Since the first moment I addressed Urban, I felt like I have a good friend that I can get any advice from and precious tips that only a local can give you, and he was very patient and willing to help with all of our needs from A to Z! Urban's place is amazing, very cosy and welcoming, equipped with everything you need for a fantastic vacation, either for a family with kids or only adults. Urban keeps everything in an excellent maintenance condition. to conclude, I'm convinced that on the first opportunity I have, I'll be back at Urban's place, and as a bonus, I now know I have a good friend in Budapest! Thanks for everything, until next time 🙏

Your guide to Budapest

All About Budapest

Hungary’s capital, Budapest, is a bustling metropolis in central Europe. The Danube River splits the city in two, and Budapest’s many bridges help reconnect it. Each bridge has a story behind its name and serves as a historical symbol of this cosmopolitan capital. Budapest’s cityscape is a mix of architecture, from classic Baroque and Gothic styles to sleek, modern buildings.

The best way to experience Budapest is to take part in local life. Explore public spaces, such as the lush City Park, and wander through the alleyways full of street art and make a detour to a pop-up flea market for a unique souvenir. Throughout your city journey, find one of the many thermal, outdoor baths scattered throughout the downtown area. Budapest also hosts several festivals throughout the year. For more insight into Hungary’s compelling history, you can visit one of Budapest’s national museums.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Budapest

Budapest has four distinct seasons. During the hot summertime, you can lounge by one of the city’s swim-friendly outdoor baths. Winter can be cold and rainy and you might see snow if you visit Budapest from December to March. Holiday markets and an outdoor ice skating rink at City Park will also keep you busy this time of year. When spring arrives, Budapest hosts the annual Cherry Blossom Festival, and you can picnic near the bright purple cherry blossom trees in full bloom through April. Autumn is cool and comfortable, and a busy time for local festivals. One of the city’s well-known events during fall is the international wine festival at Buda Castle. There are a variety of vacation rentals in Budapest from downtown lofts and vacation apartments to luxury rooms and everything in between. Since it’s a pedestrian-friendly city, it’s best to choose accommodations that are in a convenient location.

Top things to do in Budapest

Museum of Fine Arts

Discover some of Europe’s most impressive artwork at Budapest’s Museum of Fine Arts in Heroes’ Square. The museum’s neoclassical design is a work of art in itself, and the building has undergone reconstruction over the last several years. Its diverse art collections include classical antiquities, master paintings, sculptures, and regularly changing temporary exhibitions.

Liberty Bridge

Liberty Bridge is heavily trafficked during the day and becomes a sightseeing activity at night. Meander along the Danube River banks until you get close to the glowing bridge. You can bring a blanket and sit below Liberty Bridge for a close-up view. If you plan to visit during the summer, Liberty Bridge becomes a pedestrian-only space at night.

Indie cinemas

Visit one of Budapest’s independent cinemas scattered throughout the city. From historic buildings to eclectic and modern spaces, each movie theater has a distinct feel. You can look for a cinema playing cult classics, or find a showing for a lesser known indie film.
