House vacation rentals in Borrowdale

The caravan we stayed at was lovely. We were welcomed with a box of chocolates which was a nice gesture and the kids were very excited about haha We had forgotten our phone chargers but luckily there was a charger at the caravan. The TV had netflix and there was WiFi available. The hosts local guide was brilliant and we did most things recommended including Williamson park, Lancaster castle, St Patrick's chapel at Heysham Head and Morecambe which we would highly recommend to others staying. We had taken our own t.bags, coffee, sauces etc but these were also left at the caravan so if people forgot things then they were available. Would stay here again :)

We had an amazing stay! The cottage was just as described and in the perfect location so we hardly had to use the car at all and were able to walk to Windermere, Bowness and Brockhole with our two girls ( 13 and 8). The use of the nearby pool was an added bonus after a day in the mountains. We’ll definitely be back! 😀

This place was beyond our expectations. Immaculately presented, super clean, tidy, jaw dropping views. I can't fault it in any way and I can't rate it highly enough. Will definately look to return in the future. Stunning!

Absolutely gorgeous place. We loved being on the lake and and having access to it. Vanessa gave loads of recommendations and communicated well. Pictures matched the place. Wouldn't hesitate going back.

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Badgers Rest. The home was beautifully clean, had everything we needed and in a great location. The facilities were amazing nearby too.

House was as described, beautiful setting with wonderful views of the hills and mountains. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds and bathrooms are nicely finished with good showers. Kitchen is a good size and has all required implements. A great location for exploring the central lakes and soaking up all that Ambleside has to offer.

We took a detour from our planned road trip to meet up with friends in the Asby Road area at quite short notice so we were very pleased to find Chris’ place was available - and just down the road from where our friends are now living. The property was easy to find, and easy to enter. It was very clean and very well equipped for cooking and relaxing. It is also located in a great area where you can explore the quieter parts of the Lake District- which are just as beautiful as the more popular areas. The house guide gave some excellent walking and eating options. The views from the living area are beautiful and we spotted lots of wildlife from the bedroom window. We walked around Cogra Moss ( directly from the house) and Loweswater (a short drive away). We also had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Ennerdale Brewery. Portions were huge and really well priced. Chris was responsive and friendly as a host. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who are visiting the area.

We loved our stay here! The view of the lake and mountains from the living room was absolutely gorgeous and the location was perfect for exploring all of the Lake District. The whole house was absolutely spotless and the kitchen had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I was a little bit nervous that the home would be cold due to the energy saving measures but it was nice and toasty and comfortable all week! If we come back to the area we would definitely stay here again!!

This is such a gem of a place. The most beautiful view of rolling hills from the garden, and lovely and cosy inside with a nice woodburner. Bruce was helpful with the check out and very accomodating letting us leave some stuff in the cottage for the day while we explored the area. Thank you Bruce!

I had a fantastic stay at Claire and Stefans place in Bassenthwaite. The Cottage was really comfortable and had everything you needed for either a long or short stay. The location was fantastic, with multiple walks and local villages. I would highly recommend a visit to Chapel House Mews 🙂

Beautiful cottage, lovely surroundings to start our married life! Hot tub appreciated! Easy to get to Keswick too for shopping, food, and exploration. Welcoming bits left for us in cottage appreciated too!

The house is in a beautiful, peaceful location perfect for walking in the area. The kitchen very well equipped, comfortable bedrooms. The views from the lounge and the patio are absolutely stunning. The furnishings are a little sparse in the lounge also the stove is difficult to operate ( we did not manage) but overall we had a great time and we would highly recommend this place.

We’ve just completed a brilliant stay at Sandi’s place for the weekend. It was exactly as described and shown. Super clean and cosy with lots of lovely touches, really nicely decorated and equipped with great products. The location was perfect to explore the lakes if you have a car. We had a range of weather and Yan was perfect for both, we sat outside in the garden in the sunshine and when it rained we felt nice and cosy inside. Sandi was really friendly and responsive. Really great value for money too. Would definitely return and would definitely recommend.

Dwarf Hall Studio is a hidden gem! Just metres away from central Ambleside, this cosy and stylish hideaway is perfect for a relaxing break. I loved the stylish interior, courtyard garden and treats on arrival. A perfect little place to escape to!

Perfect new years location, handy for great walks, restaurants and nightlife. We parked our car and didn’t have to move it for a week. Three lovely big bedrooms each ensuite perfect for three couples. We loved it, especially liked the Thai restaurant close to accommodation and the Badger bar was lovely.

Great host, gave us a local guide which was more helpful than any website. Lots of little extras to use around the house and even offered to buy milk so we could have a cuppa when we arrived.

Rob’s house is a beautiful property that he’s clearly put a lot of work into making comfortable and stylishly decorated for his guests. The bedrooms and living room were very comfortable. We were particularly impressed with how well equipped the kitchen was, making it really easy to cook for ourselves rather than go out when we wanted. There were plenty of helpful ingredients and cooking utensils. The bathroom also had various products for our use. The garden is a real sun trap in the afternoon going into the evening and felt very private. Absolutely spotless everywhere too. The area is really peaceful and quiet, perfect for a get away. Thanks so much! Would stay again.

Was lovely , easy instructions and very clean. Would suggest booking any of the local places if you are planning on staying around the Airbnb at all as they seem to get booked up.

What a wonderful place to stay whilst visiting the Lake District. The place was beautiful and situated just right for our sightseeing. We would definitely consider booking again when we’re next in the Uk and in the area.

Fantastic stay with beautiful views. Well equipped and clean. Very happy staying here with our toddler and Fiona and Mark were quick to respond to any queries we had. Our little one loved watching the red squirrels, lambs and sheep at breakfast and visiting the alpacas.

My stay at Ehen Hall was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The host, Susan was incredibly gracious. Communication before my stay was welcomed ensuring that I found the property without a problem. I really appreciated the gesture of a welcome basket which included local goods as well as other goodies; and also the flexibility of arriving a little earlier than anticipated. The apartment within Ehen Hall was amazing, exactly as described. Spotlessly clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. The location was ideal for exploring the western side of the Lakes and there are numerous walks close at hand if you wanted a day without driving. I can also recommend parking at Whitehaven and taking the train to Ravenglass for the Eskdale valley. Overall a truly memorable and enjoyable stay and couldn't recommend the host and accommodation more highly. If I ever visit this part of the Lakes again, I would have no hesitation in returning to Ehen Hall. Thank you Susan.
