Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Borough of Barnsley

A beautiful cottage in a perfect location. The cottage had everything we could need and more. The beds were very comfortable, the accommodation was clean and there was a lovely selection of books and games. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children), and had tonnes of space. It could have very comfortably have slept 6. Hartington is a beautiful village with everything you could need.. pubs, a village store, tea room, cheese shop… We did a nice 3 mile walk right from the door to the river dove and to a little cave (our 4 year old son doesn’t enjoy walking but he absolutely loved it). Our 7 year old daughter said she will be coming back to The Cottage with her own family when she’s older. We will be recommending this accommodation to family. And hope to be back one day. Lovely place. Just as described Easy to get in and place was clean and tidy. The steep driveway was a bit scary 😝

The property was very clean and spacious with all the comforts of home. Lovely and warm, it helped coming back after a day's hiking. Also, the parking was easy to use, but further car parking available in a couple of local car parks. We couldn't fault the property in any way, would definitely stay there again if visiting the area. Thanks to Claire and the team for making this a memorable stay.

Beautiful character property in an excellent location. The cottage had everything you would need or want to have a short or a long break. Will is a friendly host but also gave us space to enjoy our stay. We would definitely recommend staying here and I would certainly book again if staying in the area. Also The Checkers pub a short walk up the hill serves great food.

Great cottage in a great location for accessing walks and for the town. Brough park behind the cottage was brilliant for us with a dog. Sarah was responsive to requests and organised with sending instructions. We had a lovely time. Thank you.

Great little cottage which me and my daughter stayed at for 2 nights to break up our drive from Edinburgh to Essex. Clean and tidy. Garden was cute but unfortunately the weather wasn’t kind Tony’s. We did manage to drive to Mam Tor and walk up and then went to Buxton. We did visit the Olive tree too in the village.

What a wonderful cottage in a fantastic location! The facilities are very good, the bed comfortable. Books in the cottage we’re very welcome Pubs, shops, Brontë Parsonage up the hill and the school room and church to visit! We went on the Worth Valley railway from Howarth Station and would highly recommend! In all, a great visit we would like to repeat later in the year!

Beautiful place to stay for the weekend we went to BOTS. Was exactly as described, included fresh bread, milk and orange juice as well as other goodies. Host was lovely and kind enough to reach out and ask if everything was ok. Would definitely recommend.

I booked this for my daughter and husband who were visiting from Australia. It was perfect for them . They walked regularly along the canal and into Bingley where there are loads of shops, bars and restaurants. They said it was very comfortable and quiet and will recommend

Just lovely. The location of the apartment is in a little green oasis very close to Hyde Park. The apartment itself is actually quite big and very comfortable and warm. Best of all, breakfast - eggs, bacon, bread, butter, milk - were all provided so we didn’t need to nip to the shops for essentials. We had a really enjoyable stay. Thanks to Martin and Carmen, we will definitely come back.

From booking to check in all communications were fast clear and friendly. The place was immaculatebwith all amenities you need and more. Some lovely touches with the games machine, board games, dab radio and more. Beds were very comfy wirh lovely linen. Location was great. 10 min walk from the opera house. Yes its uphill coming home but nothing too strenuous. Lots of shops around the apartment if you need anything. Parking on the side street was no problem. We loved our stay and will certainky be back as we use the opera house often. Highly recomended hosts 🌟🌟🌟

Had an amazing time at Holmdene in the Peak District. was perfectly located for all the walking and trips/tours we wanted to do in Castleton. Charlotte & Stuart were wonderful hosts who greeted us warmly on arrival and Charlotte gave us a detailed chat on all the walks we could do tho we didn't get to experience all of them in our short stay due to weather. We had a lovely evening in the pod with friends and we felt very at home in the apartment which was spotless and well equipped for all our needs and we would highly recommend Holmdene to anyone looking to stay in Castleton. we will definitely be back for more visits. Me and my partner stayed here for 2 night, was just like the photos, the jacuzzi was the best part, had smoking areas was great we will definitely be recommending and returning here. The host was friendly and had a sense of humour and always happy to help! Thank you 💕
