We had a lovely month-long stay in Guillaume’s beautiful house. We were looking for somewhere quiet and spacious to work on a creative project, and this space was perfect. We were grateful for the simple and cozy furnishings, the well-equipped kitchen, and the big windows looking out to the forest. It felt very private—we rarely heard or saw our neighbors. It snowed almost every day in December, and the neighborhood became an idyllic winter wonderland. We loved the surrounding area—nestled in the mountains, with lots of lakes, scenic country roads, and hiking trails, it’s a perfect place to slow down and connect with nature. I definitely recommend checking out the nearby Benedictine monastery, L’abbaye du Saint Benoît, for a beautiful mass in Gregorian chant and a gift shop with jams, cheeses, and cider made by the monks. Guillaume was an exceptionally kind, respectful, relaxed, and communicative host. Everything about our stay was peaceful and uncomplicated. We hope to be back soon!
