I am located at the end of a dead end road, surrounded by pines and some birch in the center of a 4 acre lot in Beaver Bay MN. There is partial lake view from the studio windows which is on the 2nd floor of a detached garage. Very quiet on my property as there is no drive by traffic and it is secluded from the rest of the block. If you're traveling to visit the sights and explore on the North Shore and need a place to wind down, sleep at the end of the day this is the place to be!
“Great spot. Great value. Andy gave us some great tips about things to do in the region and was highly hospitable. Easy to access everything on the North Shore from this spot. Hope to get back soon.”
My place is between Split Rock Lighthouse and Tettegouche State Park. The Superior Hiking Trail and Gitchi Gami bike trail are within 1/2 mile of our back door. We are right on the ATV/Snowmobile Trail spur. Gardens and grounds are shared with us and include a picnic table and fire pit. Trails on the hillside lead to a Lake viewing bench with 180' views. The private apartment has beautiful views of the Lake--especially grand are the early mornings for viewing the sunrise over the Lake.
“Really enjoyed our stay here. Place is very clean and comfortable. No A/C and one fan, so you might want to bring a second one if it's hot. Bed was super comfortable. We did not use the hide-a-bed so can't comment on that. Kitchen was well equipped. There is a patio outside the stairs where you enter. Hammock and chairs in the yard. Lake view from the unit and the patio. Far enough from 61 that traffic noise is minimal. Hot water heaters can be a bit finicky, be sure you read the instructions provided. Janet and Bob were very personable and helpful; responsive if you needed anything, kept their distance if not. The location, especially if you like outdoors activities can't be beat. Very close to Gooseberry, Split Rock, Tettegouche and the Superior trail. Bike trail to Gooseberry is right down the hill. Beaver Bay is a pretty low key place; a couple restaurants, a coffee/ice cream shop, a few gift shops, a bar/liquor store, a couple gas stations. Not the place to stay if your priority is going into town to go shopping. But that is exactly why we stayed there. We had stayed in Grand Marais over the 4th for the last couple years, but were concerned about the crowds and potential lack of social distancing this year. So being in Beaver Bay was just right. Looking forward to staying here again in the future.”
A beautiful 100 year old home in the town of Two Harbors. A short walk to Lake Superior's Burlington Bay on the North Shore. There are 2 bedrooms with full-size beds and 1 bedroom with a single bed. There is futon in the lower level that could sleep 2 more. Two bathrooms, a full kitchen, dining room, living room, along with a bright sun room to enjoy and relax with your morning cup of coffee.
“The house is so sweet. The fire pit, the sauna, the dart board. All the usual things you’d want from an AirBNB. But there is a unique homie feeling that permeates the house. Plus we saw deer while drinking coffee each morning. It’s only 15 minutes from Gooseberry Falls and they had books and maps that helped us find some amazing spots. Loved this place! Ps. Tim makes really beautiful kayaks!”
