“Stayed for 2 nights with my boyfriend and our little dog and it was absolutely fabulous! Our hosts were there for our arrival and Chris was already preparing our amazing 3 course dinner that I had pre arranged with Patti. Both Chris and Patti were unbelievably friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting to them...we were made to feel so welcome! The house itself is lovely, bedroom upstairs is beautiful with egg chair looking onto the beautiful view and the bed was so comfortable, such a relaxing atmosphere. Amenities are also brilliant...we made loads of use of the jacuzzi in the evenings and the sauna too. The house is a little bit off the beaten track but I think that just added to it. It’s a great base to go off exploring during the day, Bantry and Skibereen are both quite close. Overall, I think this is a hidden gem and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing few days away...I would definitely go back and would love to try another one of Chris’s meals as that was probably the highlight of our few days.”
Detached seaside cottage located on the water's edge with amazing sea views and private beach. Ideal base for touring the Sheepshead and Mizen Peninsulas. The nearest town is Bantry (a 30 minute drive) and Cork city and airport are a 2 hour drive.
“The accommodation was amazing, nicer than we had expected during a recent 2 night stay. The house was perfect and we both had such a relaxing time. The bed is so comfortable and we had a great night sleep, waking up to some amazing sea views and the relaxing sound of the waves and the birds. Steve and Sandra have an amazing vegetable garden and greenhouse, and encouraged us to pick whatever we wanted. This was so nice and the kitchen had everything you need,so we cooked some great homegrown food. This was especially good during the current climate where going out for meals is not really appealing. We cannot rate this place highly enough, and look forward to another trip to beautiful West Cork and would stay here again when we return.”

“We spent 3 nights in Joanne’s cosy cottage. Joanne was the perfect host. She had provided us with all the basics (tea, bread, milk, etc) upon our arrival which was a lovely touch. She also had the stove set, all we had to do was put a match to it. Lighting the stove in the evenings kept the place lovely and warm. There’s no TV or internet in the cottage which, we all agreed, was a bonus. We spent each night playing cards, board games and almost completed one of Joanne’s 1000 piece puzzles (good old fashioned fun)!!!! Communication with Joanne was excellent. She made sure to keep us in the loop regarding Halloween activities in the town which were great craic for adults and children alike!! Ballydehob is a charming place and a wonderful hub to explore West Cork. We will definitely be back to stay in Cassidy Cottage!! Thanks again Joanne!”
