Big Harbour Hideaway

WandaRating, 5 stars11 months ago
Big Harbour Hideaway is situated on an inlet of the Bras D’Or Lake with little boating activity so it was quiet. The dock is very solid and does not move with the tide, there were four Adirondack chairs on the dock with a few more available near by. Across the inlet is a really nice view of gypsum cliffs. There were bald eagles and even a seal! The house felt comfy and was well stocked with toilet paper, paper towelling, tissue, garbage bags, pots and pans, cutlery, etc. The beds were quite comfortable and although there is no air conditioning the breeze off the water was all we needed to cool the bedrooms at night. Although the house is on a well there was plenty hot water and the water pressure was really good. It felt homelike and it doesn’t get better than that! There is no cable tv, but I believe you can hook up a device to it to watch movies or play games. There is a pretty serious Scrabble game on the coffee table. Baddeck is only 12-14 minutes away by car.
A wooden deck featuring two black chairs overlooks a serene bay, framed by autumn foliage in vibrant hues of orange and red. The sky is lit with soft pastel shades, indicating sunset, while the water reflects the warm colors, creating a peaceful outdoor setting.

Cabot Trail Wilderness Cabin | The Hilltop

JordynRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This is a beautiful property and we really enjoyed our stay! Cabin and shared bathroom were very clean. Provided firewood is such a nice added bonus! Renée was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone :) The Hilltop definitely has the steepest walk back up from the firewood and bathroom which was not an issue for us, but maybe book one of the other two cabins they have to offer if you think this might be an issue!
Two rustic farm buildings are situated amidst a serene green meadow, framed by a backdrop of trees. The structures display weathered wood exteriors and are surrounded by lush grass, set against a soft pastel sky during twilight.

Green Gables Farmhouse near Baddeck Bay

HughRating, 5 stars20 months ago
Green Gables is a beautiful place to spend a few days, close enough to Baddeck for takeaway pizza but far enough away for total peace and quiet. The house was warm, very comfortable and clean, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. It felt like we were in Anne of Green Gables!!!
Two red adirondack chairs are positioned facing a serene view of the Bras d’Or Lake, with sunlight reflecting off the water. A fire pit sits in the center, surrounded by a well-maintained grassy area, while trees and a distant shoreline complete the picturesque scene.

Charming Farmhouse with Sunset Views

KimberleyRating, 5 stars10 months ago
Lovely gem off the beaten path but still well situated to explore the entire island. Close to Sydney, Baddeck, golf courses and the Cabot Trail…no water access but a couple of beaches near by that were easy to get to. The views and breeze were amazing and we were lucky to have spectacular weather during our stay. Important to be comfortable with driving everywhere as it’s a bit removed from main towns but the description of the place and other reviews made it easy to get into the right mindset. Go and stay there! You won’t regret it!!!

Country living on the edge of town (single)

AaronRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Nancy’s place is such a rare gem. It’s like being in a cozy country farmhouse…but immediately connected to main roads, and just a short 5-6 minute drive to the ferry. Had such a lovely chat with Nancy while there, she really made me feel at home, and my room was quiet and calming as well. Such a nice relaxing retreat before a journey to Newfoundland!
An open-concept living space showcases comfortable seating arranged for relaxation. Large sliding doors lead to a deck with two red Adirondack chairs overlooking the lake, offering a serene view of the water and distant landscape.

Rhea's Lake House

KerryRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This home was in a spectacular location. Private and peaceful. But close to town and Big Spruce Brewery. The home had lots of places to sit and relax and the fireplace was most appreciated on the cooler nights. It was very modern, updated and clean. Quality linens and kitchen items. I was sad to leave.
