Two-bedroom, two-bath, fully furnished lakefront home on Abiquiu Lake in northern New Mexico.
“Without a doubt, this was the most magical place we stayed throughout our road trip through New Mexico! We arrived on the later side, after dark so the printed out directions proved to be extremely handy. Carolyn's beautiful house was set up with absolutely anything we could have asked for. We immediately put our things down and jumped into the hot tub which was waiting for us at a perfect temperature. The stars were unreal being so secluded and far away from any type of light pollution. Since we couldn't see much outside that evening, we decided to hop back in the hot tub in the morning before sunrise (and as others have before, I HIGHLY recommend this!) To watch the landscape unfold as the sun came over the horizon was an experience I will not soon forget. The entire property -- the views from inside the house and wandering around outside -- are simply unparalleled. In a world that is quickly being overdeveloped, this slice of pristine southwestern paradise is incredibly rare. We spent our time hiking around taking in the ever-changing landscape, chatting by the fire inside, cooking meals together and enjoying the beautiful energy that envelopes the property. Above all the beauty of the space, Carolyn was an incredible host and has thought of anything and everything you could need. Down to the little notes around the house (by the coffee machine, by the laundry, etc.) that seem to quickly answer any question that popped in our heads at that moment. It was obvious to us how much she loves sharing this special place and wants everyone who stays to have a comfortable and enjoyable experience. I truly cannot recommend this place enough and I am already planning my next trip back!”
Craftsman style with beautiful woodwork details, this small studio is a perfect getaway at the base of Cerrito Blanco mountain in Abiquiu - the heart of Tewa country. Though the studio is small, there is a bright & equipped kitchen and a covered outdoor patio for enjoying dinner on warm summer nights! In colder months, we provide a space heater that keeps the inside space very warm and cozy. We are 1.5 miles from Bode’s General Store, very close to the Georgia O’Keeffe museum and Plaza Blanca.
“Erin's studio is such a sweet and cozy basecamp for Abiquiu adventures. It is a warm and peaceful place to relax and unwind at the end of the day. The stars are spectacular and watching the sunrise light up the ridge behind the house is a treat. My experience here was nourishing and just what I needed. Thank you!”
This is a very creative all solar adobe home in the high desert surrounded by gorgeous mountain views, yet within easy reach of the main roads. Enjoy the peace and quiet of pristine surroundings and wonderful hikes from your doorstep as well as many area attractions. Santa Fe is only 48 miles away.
“We stayed here for three weeks and loved every minute of our time here! If you want really beautiful New Mexico (completely rural property, so many stars at night, plenty of walking/hiking on-sore, 1 hour to Santa Fe and :10-:15 to Abiquiu) this is the place. We arrived and were dumbfounded by the scenery. It was so beautiful that we based most of our hikes from the house. The house was exquisite, steeped in southwest architecture and design. It was thoughtfully laid out, and we built a fire most nights. We loved reading the large adobe spaces next to the window. The bed was very comfortable, there were plenty of indoor and outdoor places to relax, and the kitchen was perfect for cooking up a feast (there was even a Viking stove!). Gail was so laid back and friendly, and had set things up so well that we instantly relaxed and went about the serious business of enjoying our stay.”
