Authenic Japanese style mixed with modern comfort. The private onsen is the biggest feature of the house. Also it has a Japanese style garden where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery just sitting on the tatami. The house is 22 min bus ride from Hakone-Yumoto. From the nearest bus stop, Midorinomura-Iriguchi, it's about 2 min walk. It is also very close (3min bus ride) to Sounzan, the terminal of the Hakone rope way. ・We have a security camera OUT of the entrance.
“This was such an incredible home! Oh my gosh we were beyond blown away when we first entered. It’s larger than expected and so beautiful. The Onsen was amazing and exactly what you would want for a private Onsen experience. There was a cute tea set with green tea on the dining room table. That was a nice touch. There were some DVDs and games which was fun. Recommendations for getting around/staying at the house: • We took a taxi from the Hakone-Yumoto station, as we arrived on a Friday and it was raining. It cost approximately ¥3,000. Obviously taking the bus is an option but we were beat and just wanted to get to the house. Just wanted to mention the price of a taxi for anyone who is considering it. Obviously the bus is cheaper at around ¥650 or so. • About a quarter mile up the road from the Hakone-Yumoto station is a 7-11. Grab your food and drinks you’ll want for dinner, and don’t forget breakfast food! We got eggs and bread the second night and had no problem using pans and the toaster oven to make breakfast. • If you want to eat breakfast at a local restuarant; there’s a cute indoor/outdoor cafe called Paseo, about a 15 minute walk. They had a nice selection of breakfast items. We had curry breakfast pizzas and a cinnamon roll, iced coffee. Was sooo good! Couldn’t believe. • From Paseo, theres the cable car station approximately 5 minutes that will take you up the mountains on the Hakone Ropeway, so it’s a good option to eat and then head up. • Bus times have changed it looks like from what the house says (due to COVID-19)—there was a new sign posted with different pickup times from the bus station near the house. So make sure to check local bus times before heading up to the house. Couldn’t recommend this home enough. Absolutely made our trip in Hakone memorable and relaxing. Thank you, EK House!”

“I was able to spend very comfortably in a spacious space with high ceilings. The hot spring flowing from the source is also the best. There are no convenience stores around, Hosokawa liquor store within walking distance (note that it closes at 18:00) ・ Marukiya (It is usually open 24 hours, but it is said that it may close early, so please confirm it) Alcohol and food were available for purchase. Tableware and cooking utensils were all available and cooking was not inconvenient. I want to use it again.”
The villa is located in Mt.Fuji National Park registered as a World Heritage Site, which is the nearest residential area from the top of Mt.Fuji.
“Definitely a super host! It was such a unique experience, with the loghouse tucked away in a quiet place — and only a 7 minute walk away from Mount Fuji’s view! You can clearly see Fuji if it’s nice and sunny, if you go when it’s rainy/cloudy you will find it difficult to see. Jun responds so quickly and is willing to help you with any questions you have regarding transport, or even just sightseeing. Jun’s parents live next door, and they are so welcoming and caring! They really treat you like a family member. They will look up transportation times for you and the easiest route to get you where you need to go! I would suggest you to take the free bus that comes around their house or rent a car, since the taxis are really expensive. I highly recommend this place!”
