This gorgeous house is built right in the boughs of the trees reconnecting you with tales like the Lord of the Rings and the Magic Faraway Tree. Take an adventure into this dreamy dwelling that's nestled in its own private stand of native trees. This quiet getaway is only a few minutes from the city, and based on our secluded 28 acre property. Breakfast items are also provided for you to prepare at your leisure, leaving you free to spend as much time as possible at this unique location.
“It sounds cliche because a lot of other reviews say the same. The fairytale treehouse really is aptly named, you feel like you’re living in a fairytale. The back story to why the house was built bring a tear to the eye. The hosts, Glenn, Denise and kids were next level. We saw eels, fairies, puppies dragons, offers for glow worms. The list goes on. The complimentary breakfast with freshly baked bread, cereal, eggs and bacon was that little bit extra. What a magical place. Thank you for sharing it.”
My place is good for Solo Adventurers. This room has a very comfortable king single bed. My place is a few minutes from town by car yet set into the bush. If you need a double bedroom I have another listing "Cosy Artsy Retreat set into native Bush." I welcome walkers on Te Araroa - The Great Walk. If you would like a meal I can provide one for you. Let me know in advance. Price negotiable. Please check in after 4:30 pm as I work at a school and am usually at school until that time
“Julie is wonderful. Stayed for a couple of days and had the best rest ever! Bed was very comfortable, and Julie made sure we felt at home. Extra attention with toasts, homemade jams and coffee for breakfast included. Very good location when exploring (with a car) Whangarei region. Highly recommend!”
Restful peaceful and quiet my house is set in the forest yet close to town. I have another room listed separately "Comfy single room with kauri tree view." Wake to the sound of native birds calling and see pigeons - kereru - tui and fantails as they dip and glide over the house. Kiwi call at night and sometimes come to your window. Please note that the house is about a 40 minute walk from the bus stop. I might be able to pick you up. Contact me. Come take your load off and refresh.
“Highly recommend. A cosy bright house backing onto beautiful NZ Bush. We are still talking about hearing the kiwi outside our room. Homemade touches for breakfast. Bathroom perfection. Julie is a great host, perfect balance of welcoming us to her home yet ensuring we had ample privacy for our stay.”
