Janette and Simon were unbelievably great hosts! This place is definitely for the “traveler” and not the “vacationer” - if you’re looking for authentic culture and adventure, this is a wonderful place to stay! The island of Culion is very small, and we were the only visitors on the island at the time! We rented out their entire upstairs, while they live downstairs. With the shared living area, they do an amazing job of being available, but giving you privacy as well. In just the two short days we were there, Janette made us four amazing meals and catered to some of us being vegetarian. By far the best food we ate in the Philippines! She’s unreal! And Simon took our newly scuba certified family on four dives. He was very willing to go slowly as we aren’t very experienced and took us to four beautiful reef spots where we saw some breathtaking marine life and views. They arranged a private tour four us to go into the village and swim in the gorgeous waterfalls. Highly recommend!!

Jonathan and April were outstanding hosts. Everything was immaculately clean and even better than the pictures portrayed. The tours they offered were an absolute highlight of our stay. The attention to detail throughout the property was impressive, and their hospitality made us feel immediately at home. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. This is a beautiful property with great people and amazing views! The Villas are a real paradise! The only downside is that you will eventually have to leave. We felt extremely welcome by Jen, Peter and the staff. I have to say that my family and I haven’t been treated better at a resort or Airbnb. We were picked up at the airport with a van. The airport is 30 min away. Coron town is 30 min away as well. Jen will arrange for boat island hoping, diving, snorkeling, fishing or land adventures. Even if the villas are not in town you still have full access to all the tourist things you want to do if you choose to. When we arrived the first word that came to mind was “magical”! There is a restaurant and a bar between the two villas with menu you can order from. We wanted to try Phllippinian cuisine and asked them to just cook what is fresh on the market that day and to be part of the local food. Every day was different and delicious! We had lunch packed for our day and boat trips. Amazing

Fantastisk utsikt då vi hade stugan längst upp på klippan (men såg fint ut från övriga med) och trevligt med tillgång till kajak och snorkelutrustning. Fick en härlig tur i solnedgången! Varierad meny varje dag så man fick prova olika traditionella rätter. De hjälpte till och ordnade tårta till när min man fyllde år vilket uppskattades mycket. Väldigt trevliga värdar och kommunikationen via airbnb innan och under vistelsen funkade jättebra. Hade mer än gärna kommit tillbaka igen!

Alloggiare a Rock Island è stata un’esperienza indimenticabile…Avere un’isola completamente per sé, una meravigliosa spiaggia a disposizione ed un ottimo staff è fantastico! Pamela si è sempre resa disponibile a fornirci indicazioni ed aiutarci, mentre il suo staff è stato davvero gentile e disponibile durante tutto il soggiorno. L’isola è splendida ed abbiamo anche fatto un giro su altre isole con la loro barca. Il cuoco, poi, ha reso ancora tutto più speciale grazie ai suoi piatti cucinati benissimo! Insomma, un’esperienza da ricordare e da consigliare!

If you want to experience the traditional life of a Filipino, this place of Alexia is the best to live in. The house matches all what you see in the photos, especially our famous “Kulambo” (mosquito net). Our overall stay with Alexia’s place was great. She is very responsive even before I decided to book the house. We are very happy to find this place. Her french baking skills was incredibly impressive and I admire how she was able to bring this skills for her business. Despite the uncertain power outages during our stay, and the noise of this radio from her neighbor playing at 5am which disturbed our sleep, Alexia was able to handle the situations professionally. Thank you Alexia and Toto and the kids. Till our next trip in Palawan!

Schöne Unterkunft in einer top Lage mit wunderschönem Ausblick aufs Meer. Die Zimmer waren sehr groß und mit Moskitonetzen sowie elektrischer Insektenfalle ausgestattet. Die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war jedes Mal sehr lecker, es gab ebenso eine breite Auswahl. Außerdem konnte über den Gastgeber ganz unkompliziert ein Roller sowie verschiedene Aktivitäten gebucht werden. Wir haben eine sehr schöne private Bootstour mit hervorragendem Essen buchen können. Alles in allem eine sehr schöne Unterkunft mit tollen Gastgebern, sehr empfehlenswert.

Buenavista Lodge is the perfect place to stay when visiting Culion. Its central location in the heart of the town makes everything easily accessible, and the breathtaking ocean view is a definite highlight. The owner Rachel and caretakers (Butch and Edlyn) go above and beyond to ensure guests’ needs are met, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay!
