Nature eco lodge vacation rentals in West Africa

La route est un peu difficile en saison des pluies, mais une fois sur place c’est un havre de paix. De plus la gentillesse de Jeremie fait vite oublier ce petit désagrément et nous avons prolongé notre séjour d’une semaine tant nous nous sentions bien dans ce lieu. Notre chambre était spacieuse . Il y a une cuisine et un salon/salle à manger qui sont à partager avec d’éventuels autres touristes. Tout est très propre et lumineux. Je recommande fortement !

Un accueil très sympa! Belle nouvelle maison, spacieuse et proche du 'goudron' (lieu de passage des taxis-moto; mais Mariam nous a amené plusieurs fois avec sa propre voiture au centre [4-5km] et nous a pris à la 'gare routière' en banlieue à l'arrivée!!). La chambre est propre avec une salle de bains privée juste à côté. Le matin Mariam vous offre un bon petit déjeuner avec des fruits (bananes et grenades) gorgés du soleil du jardin. Si vous êtes sociable, elle et Malick vous donne l'occasion d'une immersion en culture malienne et touarègue. Je recommande!!!

Het is heerlijk vertoeven tussen de bijzondere vogels en vrolijke aapjes in het jungle-achtige AbCa’s Creek. Het personeel is bijzonder vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Er is ontzettend veel te doen, het is de perfecte uitvalsbasis voor verschillende excursies. Je kunt er goed tot rust komen!

Les villageois de la pointe saint Georges sont très accueillants . Visite du village , des rizières , présentation au chef du village , dégustation du vin fabriqué à partir de l' anacardier.

There is a place to be: a great get away place, perfect to be quiet and comfortable. I've found it, and it's in Jeremie's house. Spacious, very clean, very functional, beautiful interior and view, very well maintained, well stocked kitchen. I had a wonderful experience. GREAT and NICE people, led by Mr. Jeremie, who helped me out with ANYTHING I needed and more, including other services I requested. I definitely RECOMMEND this place to anyone.

Staying at Greg and Hilary’s place was a great Airbnb experience. Hilary and her staff made us feel welcome right from the start. The hut was spacious, light and clean and we really loved the hut’s African-style. This is what you hope to find when it comes to staying at an accomdation. Besides that, the location (the beach is just in front of the accomodation) is a great addition, everything is carefully looked after and the food (lunch and dinner) is very tasty. The place is also really really beautiful! The breakfast however could use some fruits free of charge (right now you can add a few options to your breakfast - bread with (peanut)butter or jam, tea/coffee and eggs - if you are willing to pay extra). Besides that, the WiFi didn’t work during our whole stay so we weren’t able to contact the host of our next accomodation nor could we check-in online for our flights. Despite this, the accomodation itself really made up for this, and in some way it actually felt kind of liberating to be offline for a few days. Thank you for everything!

This was everything we wanted and more for a peaceful getaway. We stayed in the Loft which allowed us beautiful views of both the sunset and sunrise. The food was very good! Service and hospitality were outstanding. Room was simple and clean with everything we needed. It feels away from everything, yet easily accessible to saly and surroundings. We were very impressed and will definitely come again!

We were the first guests to book this property with Air BnB and the only people staying at the time. The staff welcomed us as thought we were members of their family, staying here is a very bespoke experience. Las, the chef, was very responsive to our tastes. There is a choice of European or African dishes. His chicken domada was superb. Food was plentiful and can be served at tines to suit you. Breakfast is included in rental price. Farakunku can arrange transfers or days out with their helpful driver Bob. We had a great day with Bob visiting turtles, reptiles, a mosque, riverside and beach. They also organised half a days birdwatching for us. The lodge is a little oasis away from the dusty tracks of rural Gambia. Extremely peaceful and with a plunge pool to cool off. Facilities are better than your average lodge with hot water and WiFi. Lodge services are paid for by bank transfer so there is no need to take lots of cash. Thanks to Fatou, Lamin, Las and Bob for great service.

The place is amazing. The room and the bathroom was clean. To find the place from Takoradi it was a bit tricky but Francis was very helpful. We had a beautiful time there.

Amazing place in the middle of the forest, very close to the beach. I felt as at home there and everything was absolutely perfect. The space are very clean and the bed very comfortable

Aliou et la famille Diop nous ont accueilli avec énormément de bienveillance et de douceur. Le séjour a été absolument génial grâce à un cadre féerique (lucioles, histoires traditionnelles et autres surprises...) et une ambiance festive (chants, danses, jeux de société avec la famille et amis...). Nos hôtes étaient très à l'écoute de nos besoins. La nourriture était excellente (encore merci au chef). Je recommande sans hésitation.

We had an amazing stay at Mangokope. The house was very comfortable, the pool was fantastic and the pool house a great place to chill out and relax. The farm is very peaceful. We were given a tour of the farm, it was excellent. We really appreciated the time spent with us and answering all our questions! We were served typical Ghanaian dishes which were delicious. I would definitely recommend Mangokope Lodge as a place to stay and would definitely return again. Thank you Bryan for a great stay.

Personnel extrêmement sympathique et arrangeant, une petite piscine bien rafraîchissante, la case joliment aménagée avec goût, le décor apaisant, la situation de l'hôtel parfaite et effectivement les pieds dans l'eau. Tout contribue à passer un moment magnifique face à l'océan, et puis quoi de plus beau, la nuit, qu'écouter les vagues ? je reviendrai avec un immense plaisir. la clim ne fonctionnait pas mais fenêtre ouverte, l'air frais de la nuit est ce qui est le meilleur !

Staying at about time was a unique experience. The place is breathtaking, everyone is very friendly and kind and everything made us feel at home. We enjoyed spending the three days we booked there so much that we ended up staying another week! We made many friends and hope to return in the near future. Thank you to everyone who works there, it was wonderful!

Lovely place to stay. Great town, beach close by, nice restaurants. Elena was very kind, offered a coffee in the morning and took good care.

Ik heb een fantastische tijd gehad !! Saikou was geweldig super lief en vooral alle apen die bij de rivier rondliepen waren heel leuk. Heb in heel Gambia niet zoveel apen gezien zelfs niet in het river Gambia nationale park , dus echt een speciale plek . Verwacht geen luxe maar echt off the beaten track. Ik vond het geweldig. Ontbijt en diner maken ze voor je, maar je kan ook gewoon je eigen eten meenemen.

Un havre de paix et de lumière, si proche de Ouaga. Tout est merveilleux, des plats au savon fait maison, de l’architecture naturelle et raffinée au vaste jardin qui assemble tant de richesses et aux conversations. J’hésite même à partager cette adresse si précieuse...

Havre de paix en pleine nature, en bord d'un bras de lagune avec les oiseaux. Bonne cuisine et bar bien equipé. Accueil toujours agréable des patrons et mention spéciale pour Aïda la dame à tout faire qui fait que votre séjour se passe bien ! Nous y retournerons
