Providencia, a historical tour
Discover Providencia! Let's do a different tour in Santiago, focusing on one of the most important parts, Providencia commune, sometims pulled apart from turistic circuits. The old cobble streets and houses across Pedro de Valdivia avenue will guide us through the history, origin, architecture, neighboors and stories about Providencia. From it's beggining to being Chile's most important financial district. We'll meet on Plaza Pedro de Valdivia - Metro station Ines de Suarez- where lots of old casonas contrast with new buildings. We're gonna talk about some of this buildings and some hidden stories they got. The first stop will be at Providencia's City Hall to enjoy it's calm and beautiful gardens and sculptures. The tour continues through a transformed Providencia. Old mansions and their new uses as universities, embassies or cultural centres. We're gonna have a second stop at my favorite specialty coffee house, let me invite you a good Espresso Tonic or maybe a Cold Brew! Now we are on a different Providencia. Modern, full of banks and commerce. How does a little neighborhood becomes Chile's main financial district? We'll conclude the tour on an open museum, with a beautiful view to the city so we can just sit and talk about everything we saw before ending the tour. Other things to note It's an easy walk through a beautiful and calm neighborhood. On summer it's suggested that you bring light clothes and water.
