Nishimura-Tei Hanare ― 100-year-old traditional house with kitchen & dining

Nishimura Residence is an old-fashioned Nara-machiya that has been standing on a piece of Nara-machi for more than 100 years. I was a “grandmother” for a long time when I was a child. In Nara Town, there is a pleasant despicable feeling that never changes. "I want to be filled with this pleasant contempt even for future generations." With that in mind, I took care of the empty Nishimura Residence. - Nishimura-Tei is originally a traditional Japanese house which has been here in Nara-machi town over 100 years, where my grandmother used to live in. My mother and I decided to renovate this house to preserve and pass down the virtue of good old days in Japan to the next generation as well as to show it to you.

This is a tatami mat room. You can enjoy the atmosphere of a Japanese-style room. It also has a lock, so you can enjoy a private space. - - No Smoking. Please sort the trash. Please be quiet at night. There is no breakfast. It is a comfortable space for 1-2 people, If there are 3 or 4 people, the futons will be laid side by side, so it will feel narrow because of the desk. (If there are 4 people, there will be no desk) For multiple people, we recommend a bed-type room. The toilet and bath are not in the room. (The toilet and bath are shared in a separate location)

This inn is a guest house in a 90-year-old Kyomachi house in Kyoto Nishijin. We use this old house, which was once run by a silk merchant, as an accommodation facility in its original form. From the entrance to the street garden, fire bag, back garden, and tsubo garden along the way, they all function as light and wind passageways. The smell of the earth, the smell of the rain, and the smell of Nishi-Jin, pass through with the wind. Close your eyes and enjoy a relaxing time. Enjoy the simple townhouse life.

Our inn was apparently built in the early Showa period. We have renovated the bathroom and kitchen areas to make your stay more comfortable while still retaining the charm of the townhouse, such as the low ceilings and narrow, steep stairs. Why not try experiencing a bit of Kyoto life? Please note that we will charge a local accommodation tax (200 yen per person per night) in addition to the accommodation fee.
