Home in Milos

A dream of a Cycladic house overlooking the sea

Welcome to Greece, to my home! It's a family home, typically Cycladic. It belonged to my grandparents and I tried to keep the spirit, while adapting it to the demands of today's life. A village house, accessible by a charming staircase, it is totally protected from road noise. Facing south, (very important, because sheltered from the meltemi, north wind that blows in bursts all summer), it overlooks Klima, a picturesque fishing village (20 min walk and 3 min drive) and the entire inner bay. Very quiet environment of Greeks who live there all year round and who must be respected. Terraces where you can have breakfast and enjoy the fiery sunsets. Inside, a first large common room, kitchen, living room with a small sofa, shower room and toilet, a beautiful bedroom with its "doulapi" (closet) included in the wall. The ceilings have remained traditional, beams and kalami recently whitewashed and whose virtue is to protect from noise and heat, but not from mosquitoes, spiders and insects that can visit us despite the constant care taken to keep the house clean! Despite everything, even if we are very close to the sea, we are also in the Greek countryside, that of olive trees, cypresses, and a typically Cycladic flora; the song of cicadas and crickets, at nightfall. With in the distance, the bells of sheep and the braying of a donkey. This will make your stay exotic and I hope unique!

It consists of two levels. The lower floor has two sofas that can accommodate two persons, a fully organized kitchen, a dining table, and a small w.c. The internal wooden staircase leads to the upper floor where there are two rooms that contain a double bed, two single beds, a toilet, a shower and a balcony with a wonderful view. There is a nice restaurant 250 meters from the house and some really interesting walk paths that lead you to a variety of destinations.

This is hands down one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed—and I travel frequently! The home itself is small, but it’s so cozy and well-appointed that it didn’t feel cramped at all. I spent most of my time on the balcony, which was the perfect mix of shade and sunshine—a great spot to relax. The house itself has been beautifully updated, with a small but powerful kitchen and a bathroom that was just right. The AC worked perfectly, which is always a plus! There's a beach bar nearby, so it was super convenient to walk over for a quick snack or drink. If you’re staying here, I’d definitely recommend having a car or an ATV, but I also hired a taxi when I needed to. I stocked up on groceries and spent most of my time just enjoying the peace and quiet of the house—it felt like the most peaceful "vacation from my vacation" I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend!

The absolute best view of Milos’ famous sunset, all to yourself. The perfect spot for deep sleeps, refreshing showers, incredible scenery and amazing food right at your doorstep. We stayed here for four nights after three nights on the Firopotamos beachfront - it was the perfect base to get around the island, with all the best beaches no more than 30 minutes drive away, and only a 10-15 minute drive to the port to buy groceries or embark on boat tours. Really great restaurants within a minute’s walk of the apartment, and an easy walk up to the castle. Gorgeous local cats! Get yourself a lovely bottle of wine and some baklava and watch the sun set from your private view point on the flat’s very own balcony… truly special. We loved our stay here.

This is a great place to stay in milos. Good view of the city and well maintained. Alice was very responsive and helped us setting up a car and gave recommendation for a boat tour as well. Parking lot was slightly tricky to get into due to the terrain, but you get used to it.

If Giorgios' syrma happens to be available for your dates in Milos, don't sleep on it. This place was a slice of paradise, having the waves lap at your feet and our own private jetty to chill and watch the boats go by, you couldn't ask for a more peaceful location. This combined with the hospitality from Giorgios and Maria really make this a genuine 5 star stay. From before we arrived they were so helpful with sorting our ATV rental (recommended!) and lots of local recommendations, not to mention a very generous food basket and a cold beer and wine waiting in the fridge for when we arrived. Greek hospitality at it's finest, thank you for a wonderful stay Giorgios & Maria, we hope to be back before not too long!

This place is beautiful! It is luxury inside and outside. Klima was a great area to be in because it was quiet and secluded, but still had a restaurant and area to swim. Short drive to all of the beaches and restaurants. The hosts were amazing! We rented ATVs but could not bring luggage on them so they had someone pick us up and drop us back off. They were always nearby if you need anything and answered messages immediately. Although it’s not the typical boat garage door, this was much nicer and you are right next to all of them to get beautiful pictures and the feel of it.
