Parks & Nature

The house is located just less than 1 mile from the park. A great walk to and around. It's a large city park on an old volcano, just under 1000 ft high it has great views of downtown Portland and the entire SE portland. Hike the many trails - you loop them together to get up to 5 miles of trekking. Kids play park near the top and a couple of water reservoirs creating a diverse park experience.

Head out to the 10+ mile(one way) Leif Erickson Trail for a wide, easily walkable trail w/ trail markers for distance - I love to run here and it's where I truly fell in love with Portland 10 yrs ago. Drinks & Nightlife

I love coming to Bar Avignon, it sits at the base of Division's restaurant scene. It has been one of my favorites since their opening in 2008. They focus on wines, have a full bar and delicious European inspired menu. We tend to come here for happy hour, a glass of wine and/or dessert.

Doug Fir was the first place I visited when checking out Portland 8 years ago....it is still a favorite. They have a constant music line up from local musicians to indie. It's space has always felt like The Flintstones meets the Jetsons....Have a drink in the upstairs restaurant/bar a full eclectic menu to start the night and then check out the show in the cave live venue space in the basement- beautiful!

Cheap and easy attraction if you have the time. While a unique and fun experience, the tram is not a tourist attraction but a part of the daily Portland commute for those working at OHSU the top of the hill - I'd park at the hospital and take it down to the South waterfront, jump on the streetcar and cruise into town and try an urban adventure with the carless 4T trail - Trail, Tram, Trolley, Train city loop!!!! Just look up Portland 4T trail online for details...:)
