We enjoyed our one night stay at John's. It's a well thought-out place to stay, with a mix of modern and lots of character. We enjoyed a delicious evening meal and loved the easy access a kitchen that supplied cereal, toast and jam, tea and coffee.

Beautiful, rustic and comfortable spot to stay in Melrose. Alan was really helpful, providing us with an induction burner so we could cook dinner in kitchenette (has a microwave and a bbq already, but when we asked about if it had a stove, he supplied a burner). Thanks Alan!
