The place is very relaxing and peaceful. The journey there was quite a long one coming from Auckland on a raining day does not help. The house is very clean and spotless which is comforting. Even though there is no mobile coverage, there is a very good WiFi for me to beam projector to the wall for movies. It was a great experience overall.

What a beautiful spot! We loved being in such a peaceful location, just a short walk from being able to swim in the lake. Lovely's place had everything we need, including a nice outdoor area - perfect for storing bikes and drying swimming gear! Lovely was a dream to communicate with and went out of her way to make our stay great. We can't recommend staying here highly enough!

Ruru Lodge is a fabulous retreat in lush gardens, amazing views up the hill in Kinloch. We took over the whole family wing and found it extremely comfortable, warm and tastefully decorated. Our 'honeymoon' suite had its own bath and shower (in tub) and double sink with beautiful garden views, very comfortable bed and large space (my sister did yoga). We made the kost of the spa with a view to the bay in the distance. We woke up to the sound of native birds which was awesome! Renee is such a thoughtful and caring host - it's like going home to mum. Our breakfast was fresh and abundant: cereal, fruit yogurt, croisants or hot cross buns, juice, tea/coffee. On our last day Renee packed us delicious food for the road. We highly recommend Ruru Lodge and staying with its owners Renee and Ian

It is dog friendly and my dog definitely had fun time with Tess and Ria（if I remembered the name right）. Our stay was absolutely wonderful-clean, cozy, and full of charm. The farm setting made it a truly special experience. We were warmly greeted by a beautiful horse at the gate, and the sweetest puppy, Tess, always came to welcome us back after dinner. The hosts were incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. It was a peaceful, heartwarming getaway-we would love to come back again!

A lovely quiet retreat.

Fabulous stay, Melissa and her family went the extra mile to welcome us and farewell us checking that we had enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was everything and more than what we expected. A real treat to have fresh milk and juice in the fridge as well as a grand breakfast selection and range of tea options. The location is idyllic, would highly recommend.

What a beautiful, peaceful spot. It was exactly what we needed (our 2 pets agree!) and so well positioned for our travels. Lovely setting, tastefully appointed, clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back should we need a place to stay in the area again. Very happy to recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at Catherine’s place! The location is absolutely beautiful — perched on top of a hill with stunning views, especially at sunrise and sunset. The indoor and outdoor fireplaces added a cozy and relaxing touch, perfect for unwinding in the evenings. One of the highlights was the unique wood-fired hot tub — such a memorable and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature in a peaceful setting!

Absolutely beautiful place. Felt right at home with the small homely touches of amenities. Loved the space inside and out. Host was fantastic. Would love to stay again in the summer period to enjoy the outside space more 😁

I had a wonderful stay at Lesley’s place! The accommodation was extremely comfortable, clean, and cozy, and the surrounding scenery was absolutely beautiful — peaceful and perfect for relaxing. Lesley was such a kind and thoughtful host — she even helped me post back an item I had accidentally left behind (my toothbrushes!), which I truly appreciated. I would definitely love to come back again. Highly recommended!
