Vacation rentals with lake access in Skorradalshreppur

The house on the lake was absolutely stunning! All of the furnishings and bedding were comfortable and the common areas were perfect for our group of 7 to hang out, play games, and just chat. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare meals. The VIEWS and setting are just unbeatable. Every bedroom has a view of the beautiful lake. We very much enjoyed our time at the house.

this place is truly a hidden gem. Definitely off the neaten path and not much around that's close food wise, but 1000% worth the extra miles to stay somewhere secluded like this with the magnificent views out the massive windows in the living room and kitchen. it is on the homeowners property, but once inside you feel like you are all by yourself out there. 2 bed, 2 bath and was there by myself but felt very spacious. the interior feels new and is updated with great shower and comfortable beds and couches. would highly recommend to anyone looking for great views and seclusion.

A great place and location to travel/explore while still having the comforts of home! As a family trip with 6 adults it was nice to have both shared and private space in the house. With the well-equipped kitchen and 2 good grocery stores in the nearby Borgenes we enjoyed preparing meals in the evening and having breakfast before heading out for our day trips. The washing machine and dryer allowed us to go home with clean clothes. The hot tub was nice to relax in after a long day of hiking. The beds were comfortable and the blackout shades in the summer were greatly appreciated. We even had a chance to pet friendly horses that would greet us near the turn-off for the house. Kari was an attentive and responsive host! Highly recommended for family and close friend trips.

We stayed at the cottage for Easter weekend and were extremely happy with everything. The cottage was great in every way — spacious and tidy, with tons of space for the whole family. It was especially nice to have the guesthouse. The hot tub was wonderful – perfect after a day of hiking and to enjoy quiet evenings under the stars. Everything was there that we needed, and the communication with the owner was very good and easy. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this cottage!

The scenery was amazing. It was wonderful to hang out on the porch, though admittedly a bit chilly in early October. The cabin was very cute, well laid out, clean, and with many small touches that made it wonderful. Only downside was that the hot water does have a strong sulfur smell and the kitchen sink is shallow resulting in water often spraying out of the sink due to the high water pressure. Aside from those two minor issues that place was perfect solitude. One other item to mention is that the nearby waterfall trail was very worthwhile. You park in the nearby small neighborhood and walk up an ATV trail. It was amazing to be the only people around the waterfall and to be able to hike further up the mountains.

How nice is it that you "come home" on your trip?! In Heiðrún's place it is just that!! Spacious, clean, full of comforts, such as an extensive kitchen, washing machine, nice shower, excellent and cozy sitting room and beautiful outdoor space. In addition, this is a completely private and released cottage. I felt alone in the world: exactly what we were looking for. And then finally that jacuzzi... delicious! Enjoy with temperatures around freezing in a 40-degree bath… and with a bit of luck: the northern lights ✳️ Thanks again!!

Amazing house, views and friendly responsive hosts. Clear instructions and responsive to questions. We saw auroras on 4 nights of our stay. Perfect location for being away from the city lights and being able to star gaze and enjoy the surroundings. Would stay here again

This was the perfect stay for our big group! We even got to see the lights really well a few nights out of the city lights. Great location and beautiful! 10/10 recommend.

My husband and I wanted to get away from the city and out in the country. This was the perfect place for us. The scenery around the cabin is breathtaking. We enjoyed the hottub and we're also able to view the Northern Lights on a few nights. The amenities inside were perfect and just what we needed. I was a little apprehensive about the shower being outside in a separate building, at first, but the water was hot and the pressure was excellent. Our stay was perfect and the communication with Vidar was top notch. Such a beautiful place.

This was our first time in Iceland and I’m so glad we chose Helga’s beautiful cabin to stay. The surroundings are amazing and something we will never forget. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable for the week. It was cozy, quiet, and felt private even with cabins nearby. Off the beaten path but close to our first stop on the Golden Circle. We enjoyed the hot tub, very relaxing after a lot of driving and hiking. We weren’t sure we’d see the northern lights so late in the season but ended up seeing them our last two days - right from the cabin deck and living room windows. After such a great trip, I hope to return to Iceland someday soon!
