Vacation rentals with lake access in San Juan La Laguna

This Airbnb is what Airbnb was supposed to be 10 years ago. It’s not just another property from a manager that you never see. Jean was very warm welcoming and welcomed us herself on our arrival. She was very proactive by giving us some tips from what to do, where to go or eat. She answered really quickly and helped us organized some massage sessions. The property is as described. The heated pool, the private beach and dock. Be aware that there are a lot of steps in the property and that arriving there from San Marcos may be a little difficult because of the road. But in my opinion those aren’t a problem after you see how beautiful it is there. I hope I can return one day

Ana Lidia’s place was just perfect for us. Because of the flight delay, we were arriving to San Pedro La Laguna at 2 am. The hotel we pre-booked did not have 24 hour reception, we needed a last minute self-check in place to stay. Happy we found Ana Lidia’s place and that it was available. Ana Lidia was super prompt in responding and very accommodating. Instructions to find the place in the weaving streets of San Pedro were very clear with helpful photos. The apartment itself is very nice, clean, cozy, comfortable. I was traveling with my two sons and 2 bedrooms with 4 beds meant we all had plenty of space. There is a nicely equipped kitchen and cozy living room space too. Location wise - it is in a quieter part of town and very close to the lake itself. While it does not have a view of the lake, there is a very nice restaurant (El Gato Perdido) at the hotel literally next door with the view of the lake and tasty food. Couldn’t be happier with our experience and stay. Thank you!

Casa Blanca was absolutely stunning! The views were great, the house was pristine, and the staff were incredible. There was always someone there to help and they were always ready to respond to our messages and help. We can’t speak more highly of our time there. They gave us great recommendations, and helped us arrange rides to and from our dock.

What a great place... the views, the lake, and the greenery all around. This Airbnb is slightly off the main road but very walkable with a cool little shortcut down by the lake that gets you access to the heart of San Marcos in no time. Augustus and his partner were the best hosts I've ever encountered on Airbnb. They left a present of homemade kombucha (using harvested fruits form the garden) in the fridge, offered to light up the sauna, and allowed us to use their paddleboards during our stay. He gave us personal recommendations for food, drinks, and numbers to cab which made our stay 1000 times easier. This stay may not be for the less active/ luxury seeking travelers, but it's the perfect spot for anyone who wants to relax, take in some nature, and get in touch with some locals and the outdoors. Thank you Augustus for all of your generosity and the perfect chance to unwind and enjoy what Guatemala has to offer. 🙏🏻

Little paradise in Santa Cruz, the garden is just something else - it is so magic to wake up every morning with plenty of hummingbirds flying around. The house has everything you need and a lot of privacy, even when Andres (the gardener) is around. Joanne instructions were super helpful and we felt at home, would definitely come back!!

I agree with all the previous reviews - can’t recommend Griselda and Antonio’s place high enough. San Pedro is loud ! And this is an oasis of calm yet walkable to the town and language school(s) we will defo be back.

We loved the place, great location, very clean, nice warm shower, walkable to the downtown but quite enough at night and super kind hosts with a cute dog! :) We hope to come back!

I felt immediately at home in Tzanabaj! Nico and Venus are great hosts and I loved my studio! right by the lake, peaceful, while also close to the city center (10 min tuk tuk), where the restaurants and supermarkets can be found. There is also a beautiful community living in the other houses, so you can have your privacy and socialise with other like-minded people if you want. Totally recommend!

Loved our stay here! It was close to everything and yet it was far enough away from the Main Street. It was simple and had everything we needed! If you are someone who struggles physically with lots of walking/activity this space may not be for you. The walk there with our luggage (small carry-ons) was fine but I could see how I would have struggled if I had a large checked bag. Also, having a flashlight was very helpful to we the rocks on the trail while walking back at night. Overall, beautiful and safe space to stay.

Highly recommend! It’s a beautiful place to stay both inside and out. There are stunning views of the lake and volcanoes and the apartment and grounds were beautiful. Furnishing and design was modern and well thought out. Very easy to find and check in/out very smooth. Hosts and grounds man were very friendly and attentive. The location was perfect for us, quiet and beautiful, but still close to restaurants we could walk to. It’s also a quick tuk tuk ride into Panajachel and into Santa Catarina Palopo main town where there are other restaurants. Overall my stay was amazing and I would highly recommend, we travelled with 2 children and they also enjoyed the stay.

Their place is beyond amazing! It definitely feels cozy and peaceful. Jenny’s self made products are perfect, we acquire a massage oil and hair products, all organic and super natural. The gym was a plus, able to continue working out and enjoy the view. Clemens very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Love the access to the lake! The WiFi was definitely stable and could work from there. Overall one of the best places you can stay!

Our family agrees, our stay here was the best vacation we have ever had. The cottage was peaceful and clean and had everything we needed. We made plenty of ‘carne asada’ on the grill and swam in the lake a few times. The local people at both the Yacht club and in San Lucas Toliman were amazing. We recommend going to the market on a Sunday. It’s authentic and not geared as much toward tourism. We highly recommend staying here. You can sit on the porch and watch the lake.

a very nice and quiet place. with many public spaces and tranquility, it had an incredible view when you leave the cabin. The lack of exterior lights at night, especially during check-in, made it somewhat difficult. It was a bit dusty and had cobwebs. Using the facilities was somewhat complicated. The jacuzzi was empty and turned off, and the same with the sauna. The equipment for kayaking was all locked up. Every time I think that by not making a reservation directly with the accommodation, it feels like we are not important enough to be given that part of the service.

Galileo is so caring and kind. He help us to take the luggage from the private deck to the house, and when we check out, he helped us to get on a boat to our next destination. He is very caring for his guests. For the property, one thing to note is that the shower head on the top is out of service, so you can only use the handheld shower head. But everything else is super good. Santa Cruz is a quiet town if you want to get dinner you have to reserve beforehand with the local restaurant.

Casita del Sol is a very special place in Santa Cruz. I came to do some soul healing and the casita was the perfect place. Marcelo the guardian was very helpful during the stay. I especially enjoyed the quiet, surrounding nature, incredible views, and private garden where I could meditate peacefully. There are also 2 little kitties that came to say hello everyday. Loved my stay here, Pat was very responsive and helpful. Thank you

Great place! Absolutely loved the direct access to the water. The house is very cute and exactly like the photos. The steps to get to San Marcos can be a lot, but it was doable and really worth it in the end!

My friend and I had a lovely few day stay in Becca's place. It was nice to have our own little part of Santiago - lovely views of the lake and nearby volcano, a great restaurant on the premises, and of course, the cabin itself was well appointed. There was lots of purified water, a great kitchen with fridge and comfortable bedding. We would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a special stay while visiting Santiago, and Lago Atitlan..
