Entertainment & Activities

Bass Lake is a bit cooler because the elevation is at 3400. The north/east side of the lake is where there is shopping, boat rentals, Wednesday farmers market (seasonally), entertainment (seasonally) & lots of people. I like patio dining at Ducey's Bar and Grill with the lake view. For a great hamburger or pancakes, I like The Forks, which is accessed off of Road 426 (closer to our house.) There are affordable souvenirs, a small indoor eating area & a large area to eat outside. This side of the lake is more peaceful and great for picnics, swimming & boat rentals. Continue south from The Forks, to Miller's Landing, another place to eat a great hamburger or ice cream and rent boats.

This is a great museum to learn about the California Gold Rush and how they mined the gold. In addition, the collection of minerals is amazing! Located in Mariposa, about 45 minutes from Lehmann Bauernhof.

Essentials

There are two grocery stores in town as well as RiteAid and CVS pharmacy. We shop mostly at Raley's because of the organic produce, deli and bakery. Raley's also serves Pete's coffee and there are tables to sit at.
