Beautiful views and wonderful hiking. This is a world famous destination for rock climbing. Even if you don't climb, this is a rare opportunity to watch climbers ascend the towering rock faces. About two miles before you reach Eldorado, there are opportunities to hike or mountain bike at either Dowdy Draw or the Mesa Trail, which are across from each other.

Half way up Boulder Canyon (9 miles) is the impressive Boulder Falls. Drive eighteen miles and you will come to the mountain town of Nederland with it's collection of local shops and eateries. And you won't want to miss the carousel, created by a Vietnam vet as a memorial for his comrades, who didn't come home. In the winter you can ski at Eldora Mountain Resort. The beginner to advanced runs are only forty minutes from Boulder.
