An easy 2.5 mile hike on flat terrain to the westernmost point of the island is a 15 minute drive further west. Park your car at the end of the road and be sure to bring water and sun protection because there is no tree cover. Kaʻena Point is an excellent place to observe birds, monk seals and migrating humpback whales but not for swimming. The ocean conditions are hazardous, at best.
