Stunning vistas of San Francisco from the summit of Mount Tamalpais. Take the Highway 1 exit from 101 and follow Highway 1 to Panoramic Highway. Turn right (a very sharp turn) onto Panoramic. When you see Pantol Campround, turn right onto Pantol Rd. Then, turn right on East Ridgecrest Rd and follow it to the end to reach the East Peak of Mount Tamalpais. On the return you can continue on to the coast by staying on East Ridgecrest Rd which turns into West Ridgecrest Rd. It offers wonderful coastal views. West Ridgecrest Rd runs into the Fairfax Bolinas Rd. Turning left will take you to coastal Highway 1, turning right will take you to Alpine Lake, Fairfax and eventually back to Highway 101. The Fairfax Bolinas Rd. is a narrow curvy mountain road, drive carefully.

Napa Valley is less than our drive from our home. For folks who wish to avoid a lot of driving, the town of Napa has a number of tasting rooms. Just park and walk around downtown Napa which has a variety of restaurants, cafes and shops. Enjoy a walk or a picnic along the Riverfront Promenade
