Best sub-sandwiches ever, they bake their own bread from two types of flour from wheat grown esp. for them! Good wood-fired pizzas and salads, too, you can't go wrong here. Beer and wine. Close to Gonzaga.

Innovative and classic breakfast/brunch dishes, by same owner/chef as The Wandering Table next door. Try the Asian fried rice kimchee egg bowl thing, it's amazing, and I'm not a huge kimchee fan! Pancakes are huge. Benedicts and biscuits and gravy outstanding.

Lovely breakfast/brunch place with good service. Often Southwest dishes on menu such as chilaquilles or cornmeal scallion waffle. Look at their website for better descriptions than I can give!!

Homemade, handpattied burgers, and the fries, shakes and real lemonade are good, too!

Small diner (I guess the other location is bigger) with counter service, fun! Great burgers and shakes. A classic near Gonzaga.

You don't find Hawaii food everywhere! For "fast food," this is excellent and a bit more healthy (like the teriyaki chicken).

Fine dining for dinner or brunch in a unique house near Gonzaga. Just got a new chef, haven't been there yet with him, but it's been hit-or-miss once in awhile (but still either spectacular or just good, nothing bad!) so hopefully more consistent in excellence. When it's good, it's very, very good!

Locally owned by an individual who started this after being laid off at a "real" job -- and they're great donuts! Fun atmosphere! Buy your donuts locally!!

I almost hesitate to tell people about this because their ice cream is SO good and creamy, and reasonably priced! Frozen with liquid nitrogen, and made in small batches, it's award-winning. Salted Caramel and Banoffee (toffee banana) among the favorites. (Sure, bring me a cup of Dreamsicle, please!) Opening in March 2020 in Kendall Yards where the former Brain Freeze was before it closed (tax issues).

Upscale dining in a neighborhood restaurant - you'll need a reservation on busy nights, it's that popular. The Flying Goat across the street has the same owners, is more wood-fired pizza and beer. Everything this restaurants serves is YUM.

Closest restaurant to the house, across from VA Hospital in a strip mall. Doesn't look great, but it's BBQ is very, very good! Get the meat, forget the sandwiches. Not fancy, so don't dress up.

Best view of Spokane Falls and downtown! And the food is very good. One of few places in town with really good fresh fish - so fresh, you can buy it from their "market". But take in the view and enjoy a great meal. Patio is wonderful in the summer/fall.

Cochinito Taqueria is great! You are going to love the taco "bowls" here, different and delicious -- if they weren't downtown, where parking can be challenging, the line would be around the block! Homemade, from-scratch margaritas, too. Check the menu on the web!

Not far from the house. Think of this as Subway with "pizza artists" -- you build your own for one price, and the artists can double up on whatever you like best, artichoke hearts, fresh ricotta, meats (and you thought Arby's had them!), arugula, whatever! It's baked in a wood-fired oven, and the regular crust is almost flat-bread. Lemonades are yummy and the chocolate hoho-knock off is a delish addition - but you should not be hungry enough for dessert.

This is more casual than its sister restaurant across the street, Downriver Grill. Wood fired pizza and beer are specialties, also burgers and sandwiches. Nice patio.

YUM! Located in the happenin' Perry District, this features Southern Food - shrimp & grits, pimento cheese - but many other choices and always chef specialties (so don't think the menu is small). Everything here is good. Mid-priced. Call for reservations.
