This is well loved local restaurant, independently run with a regularly changing menu. Guests dine amongst the artwork chosen by the owners, which is also for sale. Great ambience and wonderful food. Book ahead, it gets full often.

Sightseeing

Ely is iconic for its Cathedral, the "Ship of the Fen". You can see it from miles, and on a clear day if you join one of the tower climbing tours, you can see as far as Cambridge and the beautiful surrounding area.

Parks & Nature

The path from the Cathedral, down through Cherry park and into the Jubilee Gardens is one of the prettiest in the city. Easy walking distance from my house, you can wander lazily along the river or stop to watch the local activities in the gardens.

This is a huge building hosting 3 floors of antiques. Almost impossible to leave without finding something to buy!

The Ely Gin Company is based in Witchford, just outside of Ely. James, the distiller, has been making beautiful fruit infused gins for as long as I have lived in Ely, and his gins are smooth and very drinkable. Their new shop just off the market square is well worth a visit if you like gin (and who doesn't!) - great ranges and lots of opportunity to sample. Cheers!

Large leisure park opened Summer 2018 and has a good cinema, as well as some restaurants, a pub and coffee house. Not far to walk from my house.
