One of the hottest restaurants in the country. Listed as Best New Restaurant by Bon Appetit. Inventive food and superior service. Just a 12 minute walk away from the house, the restaurant serves such offbeat but fabulous combinations as ground pork, lychees and habaneros. It is a true destination restaurant that does not accept reservations. Get there hours early to get a reservation then wander the shops and sights along Barracks Row and SE 8th.

Let's be real - while the transportation is cheap and sights are free, food in D.C. is not. Stop by the local Harris Teeter (2 blocks) to pick up groceries to make dinner or a lunch while you're out sightseeing.
