Lowdown has great beers, a gorgeous patio, and delicious food (including personal pizzas) that change with the seasons. They also offer board games at the bar, and we love to go on snowy nights and play some cards.

AMAZING sandwhiches. The turkey artichoke panini is just delicious. Definitely recommened for breakfast or lunch sandwiches. Be mindful they close in the early afternoons and on Sundays.

Delicious authentic Italian food! Monday nights that have half off pasta dishes ($8 for a large dish) and it's set in an adorable Victorian style house that gives it a very romantic and charming vibe.

Thump has good coffee and a few beers on tap as well. Not a good place for studying though as the music is a bit loud. But it's great for people watching and eating the delicious toast with goat cheese and honey!

Another coffee shop that is great for studying. They do offer a few bites but nothing special in that sense. They stay open late and there is also an outdoor fire pit which is nice on cool nights.

Awesome brunch on the weekends. Way less crowded than the popular spots, but just as delicious if not more. We really recommend the chicken fried steak. Doubles as a cool tavern the rest of the time.

AMAZING vegan restaurant. We are not even close to being vegan but have loved everything we've tried. Super hipster, dimly lit and excellent people watching. Really recommend giving this a try if you have time.

Seriously cool piano bar. Think of Billy Joel's piano man and this is what this bar embodies. Sing-a-long every night until 1:30am, stiff and cheap drinks, and a dark atmosphere has led to some loud, drunken nights.

Perfect for watching the game as they have over 20 TVs and a huge space. Generally empty during the day unless there's a game, but also has a cool outdoor space with cornhole and other games. Occasionally they have some live music and an awesome local 90s cover band (The Gin Doctors) draw a large, lively crowd.

Taco Tuesday ($1 tacos) and $2 you call its. You can't beat it. Literally any drink is $2 and you can get a great buzz and a full stomach for under $10. Definitely the younger crowd of Capitol Hill, but between trivia nights, pool tables and Foosball your guaranteed to have a good time. They're also currently installing a rooftop patio!
