Hole in the wall that you would never "just walk by". Great place to go after the park or looking at the river.

This was where my husband and I had our first date. Fill your table with small Afghani dishes, smoke hookah and drink hot tea while sitting on pillows in the window watching passersby.

OMG, the cookies! Actually, the EVERYTHING! This place has the most amazing pastries. Beware of coming here every day! And also beware of the crazy long lines. But, trust me, its worth it.

This is one of my all time favorite neighborhoods and streets in NYC. Come here in the afternoon for a stroll and stop for a bite. Be prepared to sit on the stoop next door because the chairs are usually taken. Everything here is great, and sitting to stare at people walking by is so fun.

This place is so fun to eat at. This is a super low budget spot where you order from a deli case, they heat your food and you either eat standing at the counter or take it to the street and eat on a staircase next door. Not for everyone, but its a unique cultural experience and the food is delightful.

The flower garden is a lovely place for a walk alone or with someone. Then stroll to the tree garden and on down to the hills for a view of the cloisters.

This brilliant museum is such a hidden gem. Wander in and out of the indoor gardens and see religious relics that are far more fascinating than they sound! Pay what you like at the door, the fee is optional.

This connects two of the coolest neighborhoods in NYC. There is something that I have always loved about this bridge. Cross by foot or bike on your way from shopping to dinner.

We love this karaoke spot. You can either stay in the main room and sing with everyone else, or order a private room. At most places I feel too shy to sing in the public room, but the way they have it set up here makes it like a party with your friends. Really good song selection too.
