As the name states, a very steep cobbled hill down from Cathedral Square into the main part of town. Steep Hill is lined with independent shops, cafes and galleries. Steep Hill was built by the Romans and was then named Ermine Street. Beautiful and iconic.

Parks & Nature

The nearest common to Northolme, West Common is a 15 minute walk downhill from the house. It's small but my favourite because horses roam on the common and it's a glorious spot to view the city and walk to the West End of the city through the greenery.

Essentials

10 mins walk from the house. There's also a handy discount store next door to it as well as a chemist and a small bakery. Nothing to write home about but useful for essentials.
