Art museum in Golden Gate Park. Even if you don't like museums, go inside and go up to the top of the tower (FREE) to see amazing views and cool architecture. Be on the look out for the Andy Goldsworthy piece in front of the museum - very subtle.

Such a gem. Get there by taking BART to the Embarcadero, F-train and hike up the stairs on Telegraph Hill, pass houses accessible only be stairs. Parrots. Views. Murals. Then hike down the other side to North Beach.

We LOVE this cable car line - a veritable roller coast! It gives a wonderful transect of the city - passing through North Beach, Nob Hill, Chinatown and downtown.
