We've never had a bad meal at the Hoppy Monk! Both their regular and brunch menus have something for everyone (I am vegan, my husband is a caveman and we both love it!). Service and ambience is very laid back which suits our nature.

Green is a vegetarian/vegan restaurant and it is a staple for us. Their menu is varied and every single plate is delicious! I love the bowls and quinoa burrito, my husband is a fan of the kalupas (a favorite of mine too), and you can never go wrong with their fried avocado - YUMMMMM!

We love going to Supper for a dinner date or special family occasions. The food is superb and the service is fantastic. It is located close to Hotel Emma's reception area inside The Pearl (which is on our must-do list for San Antonio).

If you go to Sushi Zushi (or want to chill and order through Uber Eats), you have to try their Cosimo Roll! Sooooo good! They have an extensive menu but this is our favorite roll by far (and we've tried a ton - lol).

Torchy's is our favorite taco joint in San Antonio. All of their tacos are delicious and their chips & guac highly addicting! The tacos are highly customizable (flour/corn tortillas or a bowl, tons of sauces/different toppings) and they have a delicious secret menu. My hubby's favorite is "The Matador" from the secret menu and I love their "Alabama Shake". There is usually a long line to order, so we always place our order on the phone and carry it out, or stay back and eat there.

We've been to Whiskey Cake for lunch, dinner, and brunch - this place always deliver! We recommend making reservations during typically busy hours but we've also had luck at times walking in. You gotta have the whiskey cake (taste a MILLION times better than it looks), I mean, the place is named after it! My husband loves their chicken & waffles, while I am a sucker for their sides: roasted spaghetti squash, heirloom carrots, and their orzo.

On the pricier side but their food and service is worth it! One of our go to for special occasions, WildFish, is a great option for date night. While they are known for their seafood (they have some amazing plates - halibut & sea bass), as well as their steaks - our FAVORITE dish is their Crab Fried Rice. SOOOO GOOD!

Parks & Nature

This park is one of our favorite places to visit when we want to unwind. It is an hour away from our house but if you have a rental (which we suggest you have in SA) it is totally worth it! The park is 30 minutes south of Fredericksburg, another favorite of our family's. Make sure to wear your swim suite and take towels as you will most likely want to jump into the river. Make sure you take water to keep you hydrated and snacks if you want to spend a couple of hours! When you park just follow the trail and it will lead you right to the river. You can follow the river line and eventually hit the parking area.

Sightseeing

Fredericksburg, TX offers wineries, restaurants, vintage shops, and a completely different vibe. It is about an hour ride to our home but worth the ride if you are looking to do something different. Make reservations at Vaudeville for a unique brunch and make sure you stop at Fischer & Wieser for their sauces or preserves and a stroll around their cute pond.
