The best grocery store around the city, period. Expensive! The fresh produce is outstanding at any time of the year! They also do have a good selection of wines. Fresh pizzas, prepared meals, full buffet and an area to eat. Parking is easy.

A convenient location for us and easy access with plenty of parking. Good selection at good prices. You're right into the Chestnut Hill Mall so it's easy to grab other things while you are there - like a bottle of wine, or your dry-cleaning.

Food Scene

Excellent french pastries and Japanese creations. Everything is good here. My kids love the cream pan. The ham and cheese croissant is as good as those you get in France. Get some pain-de-mie (milk bread) to make sandwiches!

A little hidden gem tucked right in Fenway Park. The food is your typical bar stuff (burgers, sandwiches, etc..) but come for the stunning view and action! Come prior to a game and watch the players warm up on the field while sipping on a beer.

Entertainment & Activities

Come and see the oldest and most charming baseball venue in the states! Any seat will feel like you are very close to the action. I like to hang out at the dugout cafe prior to games and watch the team warm up on the field through the big window!

We like to bring the kids to this Zoo a lot! It's not Vienna, or Sydney but they have enough animals for an afternoon of fun. There is a carousel, a camel walk and a really fun park (this is where the kids end up spending most of their time) with awesome slides! Accessible for all ages!

Hands down the best beach in and around Boston. Miles of pristine sand are perfect for a morning or evening walk. Or if you plan to just enjoy the beach, plan an early arrival in order to avoid the crowds. Be prepared to pay a fee - yes credit cards are accepted. Plenty of showers, toilets, and even a souvenir shop.

Just a few minutes from the house via car, lies this beautiful park owned, endowed and maintained by Harvard University. If you're a connoisseur in botanics, this place is for you, with an array of rare plants, trees and shrubs from all over the world. Or if you are up for a long walk, a run or even a bike ride, the Arboretum is the place. You can get lost in the immense 280 acres space but rest assured, there are plenty of well-indicated maps all around.

A five minutes ride brings you to this wonderful location. It's an easy walk around (about 1.5 miles) on mostly flat and paved ground. You can also bike on the trail. The views are very bucolic. I have always dreamed to learn sailing and you can just do that at the pond. I have caught quite a few fish in those dark waters including carp and catfish but there are also massive rainbow trouts. Grab a pair of waders if you want to catch those!
