Sightseeing

Go as soon as it opens in the morning, the gardens are stunning and there will be fewer people. Churchill's home, it's beautifully run and presented. Make sure you see the permanent exhibition too.

Lovely village, a handful of shops and tea rooms, and Penshurst Place is gorgeous and fascinating, and has a great farmers market once a month.

Holy Trinity Church, C of E, is a small and pretty church with a notable ceiling painting. The church was built by my Victorian great great grandparents. The services are at 10am and details can be found via a web-search for Holy Trinity Mark Beech. There is a walk from the church to the famous Falconhurst Farm Shop "church walk" along a wooded track running parallel to the road.

Delicious - a delicatessen as much as a farm shop, especially Fridays where the famous Veasey's Fish shop is there, and also Goodtrees Farm. Good coffee there too, and great for families as you can visit their pigs, pygmy goats, and stroll round the lake. They also have really popular events in the barn so well worth doing a websearch to see what's on or asking us to send over the programme.
